Sooner or later Trump will admit trying to get dirt from the Ukraine to help his campaign but say it's normal, everyone does it.
Like all his crimes, he admits it, normalizes it, and accuses everyone else of doing the same thing.
His base eats it up and Republicans can then breathe a sigh of relief because it gives them cover for supporting him.
It's worked in the past and it's likely to work again.

Fine.
There are Western European allies from the UK to France to Germany with MUCH larger economies and MUCH larger axes to grind with Herr Twitler. The Chinese are also potential sources of anti-Trump cash if they were to understand that a better deal is out there for them if they help remove the cancer from the heart of the US government.
