I hate John Bolton, absolutely. But I recognize game.

Damn, that man can throw some bombs when he wants to. He basically signed the knife today, and is laughing his ass off as the administration squirms.

I almost never "I told you so", but I told you so here and here.

I believe Trump will look back on firing Bolton as the mistake that undid him.

1. I'm not going to buy him a drink ...

... a simple 'thanks' will do.

3. Alas, no: Bolton's game is older than Trump's, and will continue

This is the BFEE finally swatting the fly that has been annoying them.

4. Trump hired a hawk then dismissed him for being hawkish

Bolton does not appear to be the forgiving type.

7. Revenge is a dish best served cold,

as the saying goes. Bolton is reportedly a skilled bureaucratic infighter. This is why.

9. Trump's lack of loyalty to those who worked for him is going to be his undoing.

He has trashed virtually everyone who ever worked for him in a very public manner. All of the hens could come home to roost.

11. Donnie doesn't make mistakes

so it will almost certainly be someone else's fault. As to whether Bolton has a special place in his downfall ..? Kinda hope he has to stand in line. (behind people that actually recognize national interest .. rather than raw ego) And I hope he writes a searing portrayal of Trump in his book .. and then sells about 10 copies

12. Doubtful he will come clean. He may weigh in just enough to achieve

his own goals with respect to narrow issues. But, like Cohen, he knows WAY more than we will hear anytime soon. He won't spill all and endanger the gop party further, which is at the root of all this. He will walk a fine line.

Based on history...any time a gop leader or official admits there's wrongdoing, you can be SURE the truth is worse. Case in point: release of 1/3 of the Ukraine phone call which is BAD but not nearly as bad as the rest of the call, all the other secret calls, and the rest of the campaign/administration's corruption and treachery going back years. The fate of the GOP rests on a knife's edge and 90% of them are either silent or are fighting to keep it alive.
