Oh, baby, OH...I do believe Ms. Fiona Hill hung America's Fixer Rudy AND Trump out to dry-eye-EYE.

Trumpís ex-Russia adviser told impeachment investigators of Giulianiís efforts in Ukraine

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/trumps-former-top-russia-adviser-to-testify-in-house-impeachment-probe/2019/10/14/e6015c1c-ee34-11e9-8693-f487e46784aa_story.html

Fiona Hill, the White Houseís former top Russia adviser, told impeachment investigators on Monday that Rudolph W. Giuliani, the presidentís personal lawyer, ran a shadow foreign policy in Ukraine that circumvented U.S. officials and career diplomats in order to personally benefit President Trump, according to people familiar with her testimony.

Hill, who served as the senior official for Russia and Europe on the National Security Council, was the latest witness in a fast-moving impeachment inquiry focused on whether the president abused his office by using the promise of military aid and diplomatic support to pressure Ukraine into investigating his political rivals.

In a closed-door session that lasted roughly 10 hours, Hill told lawmakers that she confronted Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union, about Giulianiís activities which, she testified, were not coordinated with the officials responsible for carrying out U.S. foreign policy, these people said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to disclose details of her deposition.

Sondland played a leading role in the Trump administrationís efforts to pressure Ukraine to open investigations of the presidentís political rivals, text messages obtained and later released by House Democrats show. Three congressional committees are now probing how Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate former vice president Joe Biden and his son, Hunter, who was on the board of a Ukrainian energy company, as well as a debunked theory that Ukraine interfered in the 2016 U.S. election in an attempt to damage Trumpís candidacy.

2. I think the tide is turning,

I now have hope that the Senate will convict.

Speaker Pelosi is a genius, but president Pelosi would be grand.

5. Why do you think the Senate will convict?

Pretty much every Republican is still defending Trump. They don't care that all this is coming out.

6. Public opinion is growing for impeachment.

Wait until the hearings are done in public and I look for an avalanche. When Trump is no longer a help to Senators they will vote to impeach to survive.

13. So far, the most powerful evidence was presented in closed door hearings.

This is where both parties can question the witnesses without cameras, so there is no need for performance art. I'm suspecting that the evidence of impeachable offenses is so overwhelming that GOPer reps can't avoid the inevitable. We aren't hearing much from the GOPer committee members, are we? They're fairly quiet, and that's a good sign.

This, coupled with Trumpy's foreign policy destruction, has sent the GOP into apoplexy. They can't keep riding this pony, and they are starting to recognize what's on the horizon.

14. Silence is not defense

In actuality very few Republicans Are publicly defending Trump. Reports are that privately they are looking for ways to thread the needle and distance themselves from Trump while keeping their Looney Tunes bass happy.

4. I saw an interview with a GOP Congressman who was in the hearing and he chastised his fellow

Republicans like Gym Jordan for wanting the hearing to be held in public. He said they would not be happy if the hearing had been public. Now I'm wishing the hearings were public.

Showboat and attempt to discredit.

9. This was a deposition.

All the facts will be on the record, then come the public hearings. At least, that's my understanding.

10. There's the real deep state.

When you think of all the power that is at the president's fingertips, there is absolutely no reason to assemble your own shadow government....unless you are trying to do things that are self-serving and illegal.
