It wasnít merely offensive, said a passenger, it was a death threat.

The United incident was first reported in a tweet by journalist Jessica Sidman, the food editor of The Washingtonian magazine, who included a photo of the passenger wearing the shirt. She said her brother, who was also traveling on the Los Angeles-to-Boston flight Friday, complained to a flight attendant as he boarded that he didnít want one passenger threatening the life of other passengers.

Sidmanís brother was escorted off the plane by a United supervisor, who explained there was nothing United could do about the offensive message. Sidmanís brother turned down an offer of an alternative flight. Nothing was said to the other passenger, who wore the shirt throughout the trip, he told his sister.

Sidmanís brother told CNBC in an email: ďI relayed that the shirt was not just offensive, it was threatening the lives of other passengers.Ē He didnít want his identity revealed because he feared threats, the network reported. Forbes noted that he has worked in journalism.

He told Forbes in an email that he didnít accept an alternative flight because ďI didnít want this to be about United appeasing me, a single customer. I wanted the airline I flew not to sanction the threatening of murder of any group.Ē

2. United only bounces doctors trying to keep appointments with patients

Not passengers openly advocating lynchings.

United has odd priorities.

3. If you wear a hat from the movie 'Black Panther' they will make you remove it

A United Airlines passenger was kicked off a plan because she was wearing a superhero hat featuring the Marvel hero the Black Panther.

Freelance e-sports journalist Amanda Stevens shared a picture of her outfit, which included a tee shirt with an upside-down American flag in addition to the Black Panther hat, as she reported that she had been told that the pilot was uncomfortable with her clothes.

She first began to have problems as she was preparing to board the flight, and although she had flown in the same outfit before, she turned the shirt inside out before she was then told that her baseball cap with the Marvel superhero was problematic as well.

She was allowed to board but then had a short exchange with a flight attendant who asked her to place her bag under her seat.
