Howard Dean: I'm beginning to think Barr is not only a Trump flunky but mentally unbalanced.

I’m beginning to think Barr is not only a trump flunky but he might be mentally unbalanced.

Dean's commenting on this quote from Barr, in a tweet (with video) from The Hill:

Attorney General Bill Barr: "This is not decay. This is organized destruction. Secularists and their allies have marshaled all the forces of mass communication, popular culture, the entertainment industry, and academia in an unremitting assault on religion & traditional values."

Which is why evangelicals are such a threat to America that we must fight with every avenue we can.

Dean’s book, Conservatives Without Conscience” about authoritarian followers and leaders and is fascinating and as relevant or even more so than when he wrote it.

He is just appealing to his audience, which I assume is largely religious fundamentalists.

Was he speaking as a private citizen or as AG?

If it is not appropriate for an Attorney General to speak on this topic (as his job description doesn't cover any expertise in this field), or if he misread the mindset of his audience, then maybe his marbles are lost?

But it's the standard line, people aren't following Jesus, and the following are to blame . . .

Fairly conservative to moderate (with some liberals), and certainly not religious fundamentalists. I imagine there were many stifled gasps in the audience.

nor Barr - a very up close view to an "excuse" for behavior in this historic episode in the US. That may make up for the waste of time in terms of sitting through a painful lecture without getting new insights into the law.

And - Barr's reasonings go back decades and decades - at least back to the origins of the John Birch Society. An argument could be made that the theme goes back centuries.

Because of his fundamental Imperial Presidency writings and his ass kissing display proved he would be all in until the trumpet sounds.
What pisses me off is he's a bagpiper, and I love bagpiping. Him playing with a massed band was a cowardly act and I bet he sucks.

Your religion is bullshit and "traditional values" is code for patriarchal oppression and white privilege. It deserves to be destroyed. It's given us nothing but superstition, oppression and death. Let it die.

Trump's wick is getting short. He's not going to get through a general election with all this garbage coming out.

Barr's job is that of an enabler for the GOP. The DoJ works for the Republicans now. It is corrupt as we saw with the Mueller report.

Barr's efforts will be to prop up the GOP and it's candidates and tear down the Democrats and their candidates.

Anyone who seeks to be treated with equity before the law meaning wanting their rights runs headlong into the calcified belief structures of these Republicans and is shrieked at as “assaulting” religion and “traditional values” (read: white power structures).
