DUers With Long Memories: I Need Your Help (2000 election)

During the craziness of the Florida election debacle, and subsequent back and forth legal actions, James Baker said something along the lines of, 'this could tear the country apart but we're going to do whatever we have to.'

I'm trying to track down that transcript. Does anyone else have some recollection?

when he proposed to federalize the Florida recount fight by taking the case out of Florida courts and into the U.S. Supreme Court where Republicans knew they had the votes.
