1. Does Putin want Northern Syria

for himself, along with Ukraine. He's a ex-KGB'er wanting to screw as many people as he can, in this case the US.

58. Pootie probably has a secret deal with Syria in the works

Never forget that one of his main objectives is to get a warm port city where he can launch his ships and submarines. That was his interest in the Crimean region, however Crimea is on the Black Sea. How much more convenient that Syria is right on the Mediterranean.

leaves office, Pooty Poo will not release the tapes he has on him. He would sell out his country to save his ass. IJS

Putin has told his bitch it will be plutonium soup for him, force fed, if he doesn't do what he's told. Doturd is coward, afraid of his own shadow...so scared of the pain from a paper cut that he's willing to grab his ankles for Vlad the New Impaler. Anyone can see it....in plain sight. Trumps only option will be to declare Martial law and make himself dictator.

6. Now that I think about it, you're probably right. What I don't get is trump's/Putin's...

calculation of what Assad will do if Turkey invades northern Syria? Has Putin also ordered Assad who is also aligned with him, to stand down and allow Turkey, which is not to my knowledge aligned with Putin, free reign to attack the Kurds in his country?

And then there is the question of the Kurds in Turkey, where do they figure in all this?

I don't know the answers to all this but trump has let the world know that the US will betray it's alliances with people who fight along side it's troops whenever it is convenient.

14. There's a longstanding feud against the Kurds in Turkey...

and Iran, and Iraq, and Syria too, for that matter.

Like many ethnic groups, the Kurds want their own homeland. But, of course, no country in the area wants to cede any land for them. Where they are physically located spans areas in all those countries.

Turkey is probably going to go all Armenia on the Kurds. And that's not good.

36. He's doing Putin's bidding

At every turn he's giving Putin more power at the expense of US interests

He pressured the Ukraine's new president to make a deal with Putin while he was also withholding recognition of his election victory and asking for dirt on Biden

He allowed Russia to violate nuclear missile treaty and instead of holding them to the terms of the treaty he backed out of it

He allowed Russia to send aid and comfort to the Taliban, including arms, while we have a mission going on in Afghanistan, and he allowed them to interfere in Syria and Iran as well against US once again directly against our interests in the Middle East

He's watching Russia aid North Korea and China and help NK avoid sanctions and helping them improve their nuclear and military tech, idly standing by without calling Putin out for any of that

He's letting Russia give China a missile shield.

He's always threatening US relationships with Europe and NATO while stating how much he loves to cozy up to dictators

He's lobbying for Putin's return to the G8 and wants their return probably expects to host that at Mar a Largo

He's told the Russians in the Oval Office he has no concerns about their election interference

He's shaken up US investigations into Russian Money laundering wants to end the Magnitsky Act, wants to inject more Russian money and influence into US policy

He's okay with Russian money dumping into superPACs

He's ready to reset US Russian relations even though Russian hasn't done anything that deserves that to happen

He's got deals in Turkey and Russia that he allows to influence US policy

He's unconcerned with following the law or constitution and thinks that as long as he is in power he is immune from prosecution he runs the government like the mob, and has way too many ties to Russian mobsters

He's damaging the US economy, weakening out global standing and corrupting the US Justice Department, so we are no longer pursuing global crimes like money laundering. He fired Phreet Bahara just as he was about to win a case against Russian in NY Court and then got the Justice Dept to settle the case that they would have won outright to cover up Russian crimes

37. Hadn't thought about it, but Yes

My first thought was he might be calling troops home to defend him from impeachment and to assist in the violence that he hopes will ensue from his followers.

My second thought was that he is a sadist, and has been slowly desensitizing his cult to the cruelty he inflicts. Some complain at first. Then get used to it so he does a bit more sick painful stuff that they object to but then go along with. No safe words to stop his behaviors. Interesting that flimsy Graham spoke out against it.

But I know he's Putin's asset, and would certainly have done it if Putin asked.
Maybe he was saving this action as a gift for Putin's birthday!

Who knows how his deranged childlike mind works? Wish we didn't have to wonder.

45. Bet, Trump also negotiated some fake documents involving Biden, Warren or Sanders

in some illegal plot. Trump was desperate to get some country to print some sort of fake scandal he could push on his democratic party rivals.

Monday on Twitter, Krugman posted, ďSo, did Trump just betray the Kurds because (a) He has business interests in Turkey, (b) Erdogan, being a brutal autocrat, is his kind of guy, (c) His boss Vladimir Putin told him to. Remarkable that all three stories are perfectly plausible.Ē

Even Krugman did not think of the fourth possibility: Trump wanted a country to push fake scandals against his political rivals.

78. Trumpsky thrives on approval...

whether it's from sycophantic underlings or his despotic handlers.

With impeachment just getting some traction, he'll be doing as much damage as possible in as short a time as possible.

81. Trump knows that conversations are recorded

Even he wouldn't be that stupid. It would get out and he'd be removed by at least 98-2.

83. I think it was the Turkish president/dictator

Erdoğan is wily enough to flatter Trump on the phone to get him to do and say whatever Erdoğan wants him to do and say. Since Trump has no earthly clue what or who a Kurd is (except for Little Miss Muffet), I'm sure he had no problem agreeing.

When even Moscow Mitch and Leningrad Lindsey join the Democrats in saying this is a REALLY bad idea, I think Trump will tone down his withdrawal of support to mean that he will be cutting in half the number of paid subscriptions to Playboy in their aid packages, and leave everything else intact.

87. Nope...

If that was "the plan" there's be more arrangements made; it wouldn't be an impulsive comment on a phone call.
