For at least 3 decades, Republicans have been attacking our public educational system. The functional illiterates are the result of those attacks.

and EXPECT better results and hold students and teachers accountable will continue to plague the US.

For much too long we have depended on importing the "best and brightest" for technical innovation.

Unfortunately, that doesn't help us with purely domestic "political IQ", add to that the brainwashing by right wing media of over a generation of Americans... and President Trump is the result.
