If by "winning" one means short-term-Trump-survival. The GOP Senate cares about maintaining power over everything else. Sort of like CCP, Putin, the Supreme Leader, and others, that way...

Also, he needs everyone to "be on board" with his lies. If Pence fails that or even appears to, Trump will be burn him too.

That's what you get for getting in bed with a Trump.
