Hang in there.
This is like getting away from an abusive relationship. It can be scary, it can look dire.
But it must be done. Stick to our guns, do not let up.
He may do many very bad things... worse than even the worst he's done so far.
But we must see it through to the end anyway.
Stay strong...and support your Democratic representatives and senators. They need to know we're 100% behind them.

(4,066 posts)Unfortunately, I won't be surprised at anything. It wouldn't surprise me if he tried to order "his generals" to put down the "coup" some how.

I do not see any anarchy taking place in the streets. Peaceful protests in great numbers does not constitute a need for Martial Law to take place. A case has to be made in order for the Suspension of the Bill of Rights to take place. THAT is what Martial Law is...
I doubt Republicans or the Courts would allow that because they would be affected as well as the rest of us.

(32,677 posts)And that's just referring to normal/moderate narcissists, not extreme NPD types like trump.
Buckle up, folks.
I think deep down they know its their fault, but they also have that knowledge so repressed youll never see it, and maybe, neither do they. On the surface, they will place blame anywhere they can make it stick.
I dont know whether Donald Trump is a narcissist or not (and I dont want to get into that debate) but his election rigging rhetoric is a typical narcissist move. Its a form of poisoning the well. The narcissist will start planning their explanation of what happened even before it happens. Hes already setting it up - if he loses the election, it will be Hillarys fault.

(12,577 posts)Trump has control of our nation's nuclear arsenal, and he has chosen his first victim -- Iran. Having a madman who is willing to nuke anyone at anytime for any reason or no reason at all will keep the rest of the world on pins and needles.

(12,577 posts)I used to be a SAC KC-135 navigator who sat at the end of the runway ready to launch at a moment's notice, and I never had a doubt that if we were alerted on an operational mission, it would be an absolutely valid order. And this was true even when Dubya was in charge. I had faith that he understood the magnitude of his actions, and would listen to all points of view before issuing the order.*
Trump, on the other hand, has asked the troubling question, "If we have nuclear weapons, why can't we use them?"
As Hillary Clinton pointed about Trump: "A man you can bait with a tweet" can't be trusted "with nuclear weapons."
*One thing I did disagree with was Dubya's moving nuclear devices from being weapons of deterrence against nuclear states (especially Russia) to a general wish list of non-nuclear countries.

(12,712 posts)If just one nuclear weapon was detonated on any country, that could very well set off a larger conflict. The shock and impact would increase tensions around the World instantly and anything goes at that point. We would have a powder keg situation.
This is not something at all to play around with and MAD was implemented in order to take away the incentive to use nuclear weapons in any situation.

Ive always figured that was his backup plan.

(586 posts)but like the impeachment, we have no choice! If we don't hold this guy & his cohorts responsible, it will get much worse! I'm sure none of us want to see how truly bad it can get!

(14,168 posts)And he starts to turn on Republicans on Twitter, and interviews on Fox's "Trump and Friends". Much like he lost some support gong after McCain only 100x worse. When it becomes Trump against the world, or Trump and his die-hard cultists, when he will be lashing out at former cohorts and allies. Burning bridges left and right, literally. He is stupid enough and narcissistic enough, to do that. Where even the most reliable sycophant like Graham, will be compelled to do the the right thing no matter how much they disdain being forced to it. And predictably, the next day Graham will be insulted personally in a long tweet by the fat turd. That schadenfreude will taste so delicious.
Dave Starsky
(5,914 posts)He is already completely unglued. He is objectively incoherent, and he can barely remain in an upright standing position at the podium that he grasps for dear life with his little fingers. And, for the next twelve months, he will supposedly be traveling around the country campaigning, shaking hands, even debating Democratic candidates? No amount of drugs pumped up his nose or into his veins will help him with this.
