Republicans have been throwing out a lot of accusations about Biden/Ukraine/ corruption.

Even if those accusations were true ( I don't believe they are), wouldn't it still be improper for Trump to ask for a favor from Zelensky to dig up dirt on Biden?

Republicans seem to be justifying Trump's phone conversation and withholding of military aid because of Hunter Biden's association with a Ukranian company.

a mention that Trump and his children served as the board of directors of the Trump Foundation which is in the process of dissolving because of multiple allegations of misuse of funds. The book isn't entirely written on this thing, either. All or some of them could face criminal charges.

This does not equal that.

It is really amazing that a bold-faced deflection has any bearings on what Trump did at all. It should be made clear that nothing anyone did who was not involved with Trump when he committed his crime is relevant to it. It in no way justifies it.

That's a matter of pure deception and nothing but distraction right now. It is more about trying to sway opinion, which is to be expected. We have moved into the arena of the law now and that's where this will be judged.

5. Yes! Even if the crazy conspiracy about Biden were true, doesn't matter.

He withheld foreign aid - our tax dollars allotted by Congress - from a vulnerable country dependent on the US, and used it as leverage to force them to give him information that would benefit him politically.

That is a crime.

Note quid pro quo is not part of the statute.
That’s a whole other crime.

Trump is not on the right side of the fine line.

First, the accusations have already been investigated and nothing was found.
Second, Trump didn't ask for Zelensky to curb corruption to benefit the US and Ukraine, he did to benefit Trump and to aid in his re-election. That makes it personal bribery.
