So, according to the Sec. of Defense - we are now the protectors of Saudi Arabia

The same Saudi **royal** family that destroyed American jobs after the Oil Embargo(s) in the 1970s and 1980s.

The same country that carried out the 9/11 attacks on the USA

And the same Saudi **royal** family that assassinated a US journalist.

4. Actual fact is 911 was orchestrated by Osama Bin Laden

who was exiled from Saudi Arabia. If Iran is successful in demolishing oil supply from S.A., China, Japan, India etc will not have enough fuel for their industry and could easily start a worldwide recession. Oil is still the main source of fuel for auto's, trucks & aircraft worldwide.

16. What was the nationality of the Oklahoma city bombers?

So according to your prognostication all Americans were behind the attack because the bombers were Americans, right? How about the mass shooter in Vegas? Does it make all Americans guilty?

OBL's native land was SA. But why was he seeking sanctuary in Afghanistan? Do explain.
Many (if not all) 911 hijackers were not even living in SA. The leading hijacker Mohammed Atta was living in Germany. Does that implicate Germans as well?

Getting back to SA and it's oil, the Saudi's are certainly not pro-Christian or pro-Jewish or even pro-American. So why did president Obama appreciate the anti-terrorism efforts of the Saudi gov't? And the fact remains that without adequate oil supplies, the world economy will be seriously affected. So that is why American gov'ts spend a fortune protecting oil flows through the straits of Hormuz.

11. Saudi Arabia does business with the Bin Laden family

There are buildings named after Bin Laden. When Osama Bin Laden was fighting the Soviets the US armed & trained them while Saudi provided financial aid. Both Al-Qaeda and the House of Saud share Wahabbi ideology.

Saudi Arabia government ‘funded dry run' for 9/11, legal documents claim

The Saudi Arabian embassy in Washington DC may have funded a “dry run” of the 9/11 attacks, according to evidence submitted to an ongoing lawsuit against the Saudi government.

As reported by the New York Post, the embassy might have used two of its employees for the so-called dry run before a dozen hijackers flew two planes into the Twin Towers, killing nearly 3,000 people in 2001.

The complaint, filed on behalf of 1,400 family members of the victims, stated that the Saudi Government paid two nationals, posing as students in the US, to take a flight from Phoenix to Washington and test out flight deck security before 9/11.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/911-saudi-government-embassy-dry-run-hijacks-lawsuit-cockpit-security-a7938791.html

28 pages which were declassified

The 28 pages state that some of the September 11 hijackers received financial support from individuals connected to the Saudi Government.[2] FBI sources believed that at least two of those individuals were Saudi intelligence officers.[2] The U.S. Intelligence Community believed that individuals associated with the Saudi Government had ties to al-Qaeda.[2]

Plaintiffs in a 9/11 civil suit against Saudi Arabia have alleged that a November 1999 attempt by two men with longstanding ties to the Saudi government—Mohammed al-Qudhaeein and Hamdan al-Shalawi—to get inside an America West Airlines plane's cockpit was "a dry run for the 9/11 attacks." The FBI reportedly confirmed that the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Washington, D.C. paid for Qudhaeein and Shalawi's tickets to board that flight. The 28 Pages quoted a document from the FBI's Phoenix Field Office as stating: "Phoenix FBI now believes both men were specifically attempting to test the security procedures of America West Airlines in preparation for and in furtherance of UBL [Osama bin Laden]/Al Qaeda operations."[3][4]

Some leaked information from CIA and FBI documents allege that there is "incontrovertible evidence" that Saudi government officials, including from the Saudi embassy in Washington and consulate in Los Angeles, gave the hijackers both financial and logistical aid. Among those named were then-Saudi Ambassador Prince Bandar and Osama Bassnan, a Saudi agent, as well as American al-Qaeda cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, 9/11 ringleader Mohamed Atta, and Esam Ghazzawi, a Saudi adviser to the nephew of King Fahd.[5]

HILLARY CLINTON ACKNOWLEDGES SAUDI TERROR FINANCING IN HACKED EMAIL, HINTING AT TOUGHER APPROACH

SAUDI ARABIA AND the U.S. have maintained their alliance for seven decades despite disagreements over oil prices, Israel, and, more recently, the Obama administration’s rapprochement with Iran.

Judging by a 2014 email purportedly written by Hillary Clinton to John Podesta, her current campaign chairman, and published by WikiLeaks, there have been serious tensions over Saudi Arabia’s role in the Syria conflict as well. In the midst of a nine-point overview of U.S. strategy in the Middle East, Clinton wrote:

“… we need to use our diplomatic and more traditional intelligence assets to bring pressure on the governments of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, which are providing clandestine financial and logistic support to ISIL and other radical Sunni groups in the region.”

Clinton’s private comments differ from the public line taken by members of the Obama administration. Speaking at the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York, John Brennan, the director of the CIA, recently called the Saudis “among our very best counterterrorism partners globally.” Last month, Obama, who long ago referred to Saudi Arabia as a “so-called” ally, acted to protect the Saudi government from litigation by vetoing the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act, which would allow 9/11 victims to sue the Saudi government for damages in U.S. federal court. Congress overturned Obama’s veto, leaving the door open for Saudi Arabia to be named as a defendant in future lawsuits.

14. The Saudi Arabian ruling family certainly has a checkered relationship

with us, which you pretty much detailed in your post. However I was responding to claim by another poster that Saudi Arabian rulers were behind 911. That is not correct from what I know.

AFAIK Bin Laden was declared person non grata by the Saudi rulers and not allowed to live in SA. That is why he seeks refuge in Afghanistan and orchestrated the 911 attack from there. Bin Laden was connected with the ruling family so it is no surprise there are buildings in their family name there. The Saudi rulers tend to have large families and therefore the same family can produce progeny which acts in different directions. The "king" may have one agenda, while his brothers or cousins could have a different agenda. This gets exacerbated because the Wahhabi religion agenda. There are lots of rich people in SA and they tend to donate money in the name of religion. And many times that money ends up in the hands of terrorists. That is not what the donors intended many times, but it is what it is.

21. I laid out facts

The 9/11 victims are suing the Saudi Arabia government because they are responsible. Osama Bin Laden didn't do it alone. Hijackers were wired money from UAE bank accounts. The dry run with the Saudi embassy involved hints at a Saudi operation.

What they intended -- they have a long history of using charity fronts to send money to terrorists. Hillary Clinton specifically called out SA & Qatar for providing assistance to ISIL (or ISIS another wahabbi terror group).

Here is a snip of a series of articles I found in the Saudi cables (Saudi Arabia was interested in this reporting)

For 10 years now, a major question about 9/11 has remained unresolved. It was, as 9/11-commission chairmen Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton recalled, "Had the hijackers received any support from foreign governments?" There was information that pointed to the answer, but the commissioners apparently deemed it too disquieting to share in full with the public.
The idea that al-Qaeda had not acted alone was there from the start. "The terrorists do not function in a vacuum," Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld told reporters the week after 9/11. "I know a lot, and what I have said, as clearly as I know how, is that states are supporting these people." Pressed to elaborate, Rumsfeld was silent for a long moment. Then, saying it was a sensitive matter, he changed the subject.

Three years later, the commission would consider whether any of three foreign countries in particular might have had a role in the attacks. Two were avowed foes of the United States: Iraq and Iran. The third had long been billed as a close friend: Saudi Arabia.

• The Bushes and the Saudis (Craig Unger, October 2003)
• An oral history of Osama bin Laden (Peter Bergen, January 2006)
• Inside bin Laden's terror operation (Peter Bergen, December 2001)
• How bin Laden lost (Peter Bergen, January 2011)

In its report, the commission stated that it had seen no "evidence indicating that Iraq cooperated with al-Qaeda in developing or carrying out any attacks against the United States."

Iran, the commission found, had long had contacts with al-Qaeda and had allowed its operatives-including a number of the future hijackers-to travel freely through its airports. Though there was no evidence that Iran "was aware of the planning for what later became the 9/11 attack," the commissioners called on the government to investigate further.
This year, in late May, attorneys for bereaved 9/11 family members said there was revealing new testimony from three Iranian defectors. Former senior commission counsel Dietrich Snell was quoted as saying in an affidavit that there was now "convincing evidence the government of Iran provided material support to al-Qaeda in the planning and execution of the 9/11 attack." That evidence, however, has yet to surface.

As for Saudi Arabia, America's purported friend, you would have thought from the reaction of the Saudi ambassador, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, that the commission had found nothing dubious in his country's role. "The clear statements by this independent, bipartisan commission," he declared, "have debunked the myths that have cast fear and doubt over Saudi Arabia." Yet no finding in the report categorically exonerated Saudi Arabia.

I have the rest posted here

24. What goes on privately is a lot different than what goes on publicly

From the intercept link.

Obama tried to veto this but Schumer thank God overruled the veto.

Don't trust the US when it comes to "War on Terror" which involved invading Iraq and now we are flexing with Iran who also has nothing to do with 9/11.

I consider House of Saud terrorists. They have the same "justice" system as ISIS.

Saudi Arabia is a great ally in bombing poor Yemeni people.

17. Yes, and not DIRECTLY sponsored or funded by the Saudi gov't

Almost all mass shooters and bombers in US have been Americans, including the Oklahoma city bombers, the Las Vegas shooter from hi-rise hotel, all school mass killers, Lee Harvey Oswald, etc were all Americans. What does that mean? Blame the American gov't?

22. The "gun" problem in America.......

It goes back to the George Washington era. Civilians have been allowed to purchase any type of guns available on the market. There are over 400 Million guns in civilian hands. Some of those civilians do not obey laws. They rob banks and stores. They murder competition gangs. I see no way to stop gun violence in America for 100 years at a minimum. Enact laws to prohibit sale of any automatic large capacity guns. The existing guns might rust out in 100 years. But we have no choice except to tolerate gun violence by crooks and mentally disturbed for 100 years. That is if strict gun safety laws are enacted soon. I don't see much possibility of that either. So it will be more than 100 years of gun violence to tolerate.
