What if Pelosi has stayed above the politics for the eventuality that she might be POTUS?

Looks like Pence is deep in this Ukraine mess. He went instead of Trump to that meeting with Zelensky. If Pence and Trump both go down, hello President Pelosi.

Here's Robert Costa's thread. He was there as pool reporter.

1. I do keep thinking that there is a lot that we do not know

And I have long dreamed that our first female president will be Nancy Pelosi.

6. 2nd in line- VP first, then Speaker.

Pence is a monster of ambition, especially intense because he is so remarkably mediocre.

I think he will throw Trump under the bus, and grab the Resolute Desk with both hands, and never let go.

4. Pelosi isn't going to be President. If the Vice President is removed the 25th amendment specifies

how a replacement is chosen.

Section 2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

8. In the unlikely event that Trump and Pence are impeached together or resign together--

Pelosi will be president.

but more likely:
Trump gone.
Pence president long enough to nominate a VP (CF-- Gerald Ford nominating Rockefeller)
VP approved by Senate.

McConnell would do anything he could to keep Pelosi from the White House... but it sure is fun to speculate.
