American Pharoah, the Triple Crown winner is known for his sweet and friendly temperament, its said he never bites anyone. Apparently Mike Pence was invited to meet him where he is standing stud. Pharoah bit him on the arm so hard he almost fainted. Animals always know.

(81,573 posts)Without question. All the domestic animals I encounter always come right up to me and step on my foot and then sit on it while demanding my attention. Some even roll around on the ground. I seem to do okay with horses though I'm not around them all that much.
Glad he got a good solid bite!

(33,437 posts)there was a "crowd of cameras around" ... but no pictures? (and by pictures, i mean no pics of the liar wincing, or the horse near the liar's arm?)
"Barr was with Pence, but did not see the bite occur." he didn't hear pence when the bite occurred? pence said the horse bit him so hard "he nearly collapsed" -- but he didn't yell or call out to draw attention to what was happening?
barr saw a " bruise when Pence showed it off on Air Force Two, ... but no bite marks?
and the farm manager said: " it would be out of character for a horse he described as sweet. If he gave someone a nasty bite, Id know it,

(1,123 posts)He said he held Pharoah's "reins", not what it's called, it's called a shank, if he was standing there holding the horse, there were most likely a ton of people around, especially his groom who wouldn't just walk away, someone would have seen it.
