The downside to Dorian not making landfall...

...is that it won't dissipate. The current models show it remaining at hurricane strength as late as Thursday.

Looks like the Bahamas could be taking a direct hit, then pray it turns north soon if u are on the FL east coast

Half the storm will still be over land.

And even if true, the trade off should be worth it.

3. As long as the eye stays over warm water it should retain it's strength.
