i need to ask this question about Impeachment inquiry hearings.

Now if the house decides to hold impeachment inquires, can they Subpoena anybody, (tRUMP or Mcturtle)? Can they actually hold tRUMP in contempt, and take him before the courts? (if he refuses to testify) I'm all for the impeachment inquires, whenever they decide to start them.

1. There is no magic bullet

An impeachment inquiry approved by the full House dramatically improves their chances of getting what they need from the courts. Trump could still refuse (neither Congress nor the courts have much in the way of enforcement power), but that would add ammunition to impeachment charges.

2. I believe Judiciary comm. has cited in court documents that they need the requested

Information as part of an impeachment investigation, so the impeachment investigation part is official. As I understand it, there is no required protocol for starting such an inquiry, although a vote would make it more public. Reporters had to comb through court documents to notice that one mentioned an impeachment investigation.

Someone else will have to explain how much more power the committees can get...
