http://www.nytimes.com/video/2012/08/30/us/politics/100000001752472/clint-eastwoods-rnc-speech.html

This video is excellent quality however if you missed it, but make sure to watch the throat slashing elsewhere, that was very ugly of Eastwood, truly.

I was a fan

I've just learned how many of the founding fathers and other prominent politicos of yore were Masons including my great great great grandfathers who fought the brits and the south.

They want to wink wink and not point out how ugly that was, as you said what a threat it represents, because it's Eastwood. Eastwood and the other 1% ers don't have to worry I guess?

I never thought I'd be thinking about Clint Eastwood this way..I remember when I saw him on tv in Rowdy Yates. It was like "be still my beating heart". He's not Clint Eastwood anymore.

How wonderful it is to see him and them embarrass themselves like this.

industry to indicate it is time to cut someone off (in this case referring to Obama as president)? I did not view it with its more sinister meaning (that used by professional football players after they crush another player).

Give Eastwood a break on that one.

the nyt has been consistent in its harsh criticism of romney. And here's the article posted about Clint's speech with the entire vid of his speech embedded.

TAMPA, Fla.—Clint Eastwood’s rambling, head-scratching endorsement of Mitt Romney on Thursday set off immediate questions and finger-pointing among Romney supporters: Who booked Mr. Eastwood? Did anyone have an idea of what he was going to say? Did anyone read his remarks before they were broadcast?

The actor, in one of the more unusual moments in Republican convention history, offered a speech in which he pretended to have an off-color conversation with an imaginary President Obama sitting by his side in an empty chair.
Clint Eastwood offered an eccentric endorsement.

“Mr. President, how do you handle promises that you made when you were running for election?” the onetime Dirty Harry said, mumbling to a befuddled crowd of thousands in the convention hall and millions of television viewers.

As thousands of “OMG!” tweets started flying, Mr. Eastwood, 82, asked the invisible Mr. Obama why he had not closed the prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba.

<snip>

“I can’t tell him that. He can’t do that to himself,” Mr. Eastwood said. “You’re getting as bad as Biden.”

On Twitter, one person said, “If Romney is elected, Clint Eastwood will be named Secretary of BlargleflagglemurplePANCAKES!!!”

yeah, yeah. The Times is really working to protect rMoney and Crazy Clint. Lol.

I said that this action is being swept under the carpet by the MSM. The New York Times is not above a little avoidance of the hard issues, like disrespect for the President, since I'm sure they don't want to jump too hard down poor old Clint's throat. I think he should be called out -- and so did the chattering classes on twitter which is where I saw this information. I'm guessing they responded to the criticism and stopped cutting the end of the video.
