2. Worst employee I ever had was a Harvard grad.

Not suggesting causation there, but boy did I want to call their alumni department and advise them this dolt was bringing me to the conclusion I'd be happy with my kids attending any university besides Harvard.

15. Barack Obama?

and, currently in Congress, Katie Porter

Pete Buttigieg, Al Gore, JFK, FDR, Al Franken, RFK, dozens of Nobel laureates and Pulitzer winners.

I'd say that Harvard stands up pretty well compared to a lot of colleges.

17. Good grief, I was joking!

I am well aware of the many Harvard grads who have contributed to society, thanks. Did you honestly think I would make a determination about the quality of a school based on a single individual? I did not think I had to put a smiley in that post, figuring it would be completely obvious it's ribbing.

Well, I wasn't kidding about the employee being horrible and not someone the alumni office should include in their literature. But really, come on now.

I barely look at a person's username, and I have no idea which DUers support which candidates.

21. I don't usually look at user names unless I see something that strikes me as odd.

Then I'll look. Which oddly enough, your reply to me struck me as odd so I looked at the user name assuming it would be someone with a low post number or a recent joining date.

3. Last time "God" was in the public square...

and Xtians controlled most of the World (Europe), we had inquisitions, torture, witch burnings, stonings, rampant murders of "heathens" no fair trials...

oh wait...

ok...

yeah, that was a while ago...

right?

7. Highly illogical...

Captain!

That's self-contradictory and kind of Monty Python-esque.

"Where are you going, Dear?"

"I am going to remove God from the public square!"

13. The Anointed One is working toward his ascendance to power.

He went quiet after his 2016 debacle, but looks like it's time for him to ramp up the religion again. He is a religious extremist, dominionist type, not just using it. He has a whole lot of competition for ruler of the U.S. of course.

Talking about murderous, just imagine the battles that'd ensue during a takeover between leaders of the various (overlapping) RW plutocrat, white power, and Christian dominionist factions. My money'd be on the last, but blood would flow between its religious factions also.

But there is logic in the destructive madness they're encouraging, as are hostile nations.

22. There would likely be church burnings.....

in the scenario you imagine.............

Each denomination or sub-denomination could be assigned to it's own state with WALLS separating them.

Perfect setup for the rapture.....

where were the school shootings in 1780?

10. Yes. Fwiw, though, there've always been school shootings,

but they were typically of a single person and that was usually the teacher. Nothing new about rage and emotional imbalance, but today is different of course.

12. You can only work with the reality you have, not the reality you want

There has to be some reason not involving a society awash in unfettered, unregulated access to firearms by anyone, anywhere that will successfully explain all these shootings. Ted Cruz is grasping at the God in the public square argument. It's all he's got.

for idiots. There have been shootings in churches. There were shootings done by church-going religious nuts.

25. They really don't want religion in the public square.

What they want is religious law enforced by the arm of the state. To actually have religion in the public square would mean debating truth, creeds, dogma etc. Nosiree, they most certainly do not want that.
