The media is shilling so hard against impeachment right now, Bob Costa, others, on MSNBC

I had to turn it off.

"Voters just aren't interested."

WTF!!!

1. I DON'T CARE. Treason is treason. Crimes are crimes. And they should not go unpunished. Should not even need to be said.

2. If people don't care it's because the media has fallen in line behind Trump, Barr and GOP and told them they don't need to care.

No wonder my acid reflux has gotten so bad.

3. That has been my entire case for impeachment all along...

It is NOT about conviction and removal from office...that is clearly IMPOSSIBLE with McConnell regardless of what Trump is found to have done.

It has always been about the rule of law and stating in public that Trump is a liar, a cheat and a fraud and stamping him with the big red IMPEACHED stain that he could NEVER remove, regardless of his craven opportunist supporters and clowns in the GOP caucus.

1) Laws were broken.
2) Trump is clearly implicated in many instances of this lawlessness.
3) He MUST be held accountable or we may as well toss out the rule of law and accept fascism and plutocracy as the real law.

The impeachment inquiries will never happen.
Trump will walk scot-free.
Democratic, self-governance has been lost.

OR...the party "leaders" accept this fact, revisit Adam Schiff's opening statement and realize there ARE more important things to be done still and get to work.

10. Agreed. It is not the House's job to second-guess the Senate.

The Houseís duty is to determine whether the presidentís conduct is impeachable, using the tools at their disposal. Mueller has given them strong indications that it is, as much as he is allowed to say.

The Senateís actions are largely irrelevant to the Houseís decision. Yes, they will certainly acquit. Yes, Trump will claim vindication ó but he already has, even though the report and testimony are damning, so we might as well do the right thing for history.

If at the end Trump only gets an asterisk, then he gets an asterisk; but the House will have spoken, to him and future generations, that this conduct is unacceptable.

And more can come out in an open-ended inquiry. Mueller was constrained to Russia; the House can look at anything Trump did. Depending on what we find, we might even peel off a few Republicans in the Senate, who might not want to defend Trumpís lawlessness anymore.

4. CNN seems to be doing a better job

but I had to watch these delayed a little so......just for your sanity, they seem to see this as a bad day for Trump.

6. but voters aren't interested

and that's the problem.

Do you want impeachment, or do you want Trump defeated in 2020, because I think the former can risk the latter.
And clearly so does Pelosi and others.

And that's going to continue unless there's a change in public opinion.

7. Despite being quite impressed with Democrats and points made today, if there is no

groundswell for Impeachment, I think we need to pretty much move on from Russian interference matter and concentrate on minimizing interference in 2020 and continuing to taint trump/GOP for his unethical, immoral and likely criminal activity that is still going on.

9. If it doesn't matter whether people are interested, why hold the hearing?

The whole point was to frame an argument that the audience would find compelling. I don't think they accomplished that.

16. I've said it before: wait for impeachment proceedings until the start of the campaign.

Then let him have it. Let him have the impeachment hearings going on while he's trying to campaign. See what it does to his confidence. Summon him back to Washington every week from the campaign trail to grill him about whatever nonsensical shit will prolong this whole thing.

You know why everyone thinks Hillary Clinton is guilty of something, even if they don't know what? Because the right-wing spent the last thirty years telling everyone she was guilty of something, even if they didn't know what.

Spend the entire campaign season telling everyone Trump is guilty of something. There are a lot of legitimate reasons to do so. But hell, pin anything on him and see if it sticks. Turn his re-election campaign into the dumpster fire his administration already is.
