First the question, then read the response. Thank you Ray, that take down was a thing of beauty. Sadly, Mark can only see white. You, Ray, you painted a beautiful portrait of color, magnificent, bold and beautiful colors and cultures. That is our America.

Democrats are consciously and deliberately destroying our nation as founded, its distinct culture, traditions, and heritage. They are also selling our birthright out from under us and rendering citizenship almost meaninglesss.

Hey Kennedy, Who was it that wanted to override the SCOTUS decision on the census question? What party did he belong to? Who said no one has the right to criticize America or the president while he's in office? Who shamed America by taking babies and kids away from their parents as a deterent?
You've got to be some sort of fanatical fascist idiot to write what you did, especially here. I don't know why Shaw didn't delete it.
What is our "distinct" culture? America is made up of ALL cultures not just White Anglo Saxon supremacists, okay? Our "traditions" are many and varied, not just ONE. We celebrate the 4th of July as our unique tradition. Other countries (Canada for one) have "Thanks giving" days. So even that isn't unique to America. Our traditions come from all over the world. The only truly American traditions come from our Native Americans. It's people like you who are destroying America by looking the other way while tRump breaks laws and embarrasses America with his stupidity every day.
You belong to a cult that can't see its own faults and errors.

PS if Kennedy wants to make sure people assimilate into that one American culture perhaps he should be admonishing those who are part of the original anti-American culture, the confederacy.

(23,131 posts)They don't go anywhere without a voice from Fox reassuring them that democrats are bad, democrats are hypocrites, and on and on.
You can try to fight them one battle at a time, but then these Mark Kennedy drones will just reconnected to the voices streaming 24/7 and they're pacified again.
The war has to begin with education, critical thinking, and somehow doing away with the ever present stream of Fox talking heads brainwashing the masses. Geyod!

How is the temperature and how are you coping?
We have had a blistering heatwave and only tonight is it cool enough to breathe. We lucked out without an outage.

(305,707 posts)that hot here.. but I guess there have been a lot of people using AC according to a neighbor. We don't have it where I live nor do we need it, imo. But it would be unbearable without my fans!
I just read these subsequent outages are caused by the electric company implementing rolling blackouts.. to conserve energy.
Glad it got cooler for you all tonight with no outages, she!

The iconic imagery of Confederation is a bunch of bored looking guys sitting around a table.

(19,187 posts)Oh yeah, and name a food that is distinctly American.
lunatica
(53,410 posts)and some of it features as distinctive food preparation in other countries.
The reason Thanksgiving is celebrated with specific food is because all of it is native to the Americas. Turkeys only existed on this continent. Potatoes, pumpkins and all squash are from this continent. So is corn, chile peppers, coffee, chocolate and tomatoes. Tobacco is too.
Believe it or not potatoes were not native to Ireland, hot chile peppers are not native to Szechuan.

(19,187 posts)Looking for a distinct white culture food that defines America, in line with mark kennedy's comments. Something that we didn't 'borrow' from the Indians, Chinese, Mexicans, Italians, Germans, French, Irish, Spanish or any of the other other cultures whose peoples live within the borders of the U.S.A. Since I hosted exchange students, I have often thought of this and can't come up with a food that represent our melting pot/salad bowl population that is uniquely American and not brought from a European country or a country in its sphere of influence during colonization. Maybe fair food like fried Twinkies?
Did you get to read 1491 by Charles Mann? A good read about Native American cultures before Columbus.
