Mueller report shows evidence Trump committed crimes, House Judiciary chairman says

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The top Democrat on the U.S. House Judiciary Committee said Sunday he believes there is "substantial evidence" that President Donald Trump committed high crimes and misdemeanors, and he plans to ask former Special Counsel Robert Mueller to present those facts at a congressional hearing on Wednesday.

"The report presents very substantial evidence that the president is guilty of high crime and misdemeanors, and we have to let Mueller present those facts to the American people and then see where we go from there," House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler said on "Fox News Sunday."

"The administration must be held accountable, and no president can be above the law."

Nadler's comments are significant because evidence of such crimes would be required if Democrats pursue impeachment proceedings against the president.

2. Why hasn't Nadler begun an impeachment inquiry? We need to stop letting Dems skate by this stuff.

If he truly believes this statement, then there is no excuse for not starting an impeachment inquiry. Yet Nadler has not done so. I'm sorry but you cannot have it both ways, Nadler.

3. Agree

This is ridiculous, because at this point this is the only way to get Trumps taxes, as well as (I think) other info like grand jury evidence, and counterintelligence info. Trump is going to slow roll the courts till 2020 to avoid having show his taxes. And they must be pretty damning if he is desperately trying to hide them.

4. File this under "No shit, Sherlock."

And, if the author of that article had bothered reading the Mueller Report, THEY WOULD ALREADY FUCKING KNOW THAT. It's not like the damn thing has been hidden away from public view. FFS. Do these assholes have to have EVERYTHING spoon fed to them?

5. Republicans will make sure that evidence does not become a talking point.

That is what they do.

6. I fully expect the republicans to ask Mueller if he opened an investigation

into Hillary's emails or Benghazi. And if not, why not.
