If the GOP was smart....

About six of their top leaders, including McConnell, should march over to the White House and beg a meeting with Their Lordship.

They should inform him that he is not safe from impeachment, and he is no longer safe from conviction. They should ask for his resignation. If they were smart...

If Robert Mueller adds his valued opinion that Donald Trump is guilty of criminal conduct, then it it up to the Congress of the United States to act.

The GOP would be wise to see the writing on the wall. If they cannot persuade Mr Trump to offer his resignation, then it is just a matter of time.

If Bob Mueller gives his imprimatur, he will be impeached.

5. The Dems need to guarantee that anyone who if fired by a corrupt AG (etc) should be fully reinstated

etc

Assuming a trial / conviction of the corrupt one.

Or is this already the law?

8. when they're so close?

one more election and they could very well have a permanent majority. Plus, there is nothing that has been done that they have an issue with.

10. with the number of states they control..

and with the police-state we have become, it doesn't seem like a problem, at all. They will be hot and heavy with skewed polls, and opinion pieces in favor of Trump blanketing the net. Just like 2016... they pre-announce..If they lose it was stolen. They have the power.

11. Trump is McConnell's "useful idiot".

McConnell's damage to the country began long before Trump. He relies on Trump to keep distracting attention away from his own poisonous behavior. His stench will take generations to remove.

12. On what basis would be not be safe from conviction?

Even if you assume a blue Tsunami in 2020, the States where Republicans are up for re-election are almost all Safe-R. Not likely to be worrying about voter backlash.

13. No repukes will vote for impeachment in the senate. He's safe and will "win" in 2020

Sitting back waiting and hoping things will get better by some magical passage of time or universal justice is the kind of complacency that religion has forced on the subservient masses, and it leads to nothing.
