Just thinking back here. I was born in 47 and thinking i lived through possibly

The best times EVER (40's 50's 60's 70's) Didn't realize it then BUT do now! Now i also feel like i'm living through the WORST time of my life!! This wonderful country is seeing changes i never thought possible! I've been very lucky, and i'm REALLY concerned what my children and Grandchildren will go through. We need to win in 2020, for our kids and for our country!!!

I wasn't a fan of the 70's either, and I hated the Reagan era in total. Hated it. I see that as the beginning of the end.

My saving grace for the 70's was the birth of my first daughter!

think the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s were so great. A lot of racism was accepted at that time. Riots and Vietnam war in the 60’s into the 70’s.

If you were black, then Jim Crow in the south and institutional racism in general made them less than great. I can say as a woman that those decades were oppressive to women. My mom had 6 children in 8 years before female birth control was available(only to married women who had a child), men could beat their wives without consequence, decent jobs and pay were for men. I think those seem like great times for many of us because most of us were kids and didn't really see the country as it was for so many adults. It did seem we made great strides over those decades, and I had hoped we were going to continue moving forward. I guess most white people long for the 40s and 50s, all that privilege, all those good middle class jobs that white men could choose from. To republicans equality = oppression. The middle class has been gutted and white people need someone to blame, and the use of religion gives them cover for their behavior.

And from Georgia. It was a bad time to be Catholic, Jewish or black where I was then. Life was definitely simpler and music was great. A lot of the ugliness was not as public, but still there.
I believe the majority of the culture has changed for the better for gays and minorities. Politics not so much. We are definitely living through the worst Presidency in history. We also had four political assassinations, Kennedys, King, Malcolm X. !968 was the most tumultuous year in our history.

We sure have seen a whole lot of change in this country over those 70+ years...the good, the bad, the ugly, and the magnificent.
So, we know what its like to be a true patriot, and how important it is to defend the republic from a domestic enemy.
As they say, "the cost of freedom is eternal vigilance".

threatened with Fascism or Nazism.
Where are those sons and daughters of those that fought to preserve our Democracy Why aren't they standing against this Democracy threat?

Is it a fact now that Republicans in Congress go along with Trump are vying for a position in Trumps dictatorship, fascist Government? It appears that way.
Do we not have defenses against this guy...I mean suppose we win the election by millions and have it called back because Trump declares voter fraud or something. Or the Russians are able to flip millions of votes..I am scared.

Certainly very pessimistic about the future of this once-great country, particularly if Dumpy manages to engineer his reelection.
