Just MHO - But the Republicans Are Fucked in 2020

Sure, the GOP is trying to stir up their base by harping on the Great Brown Menace, caravans of disease-ridden, drug-dealing rapists that are about to invade the last bastion of lily-whiteness on the planet, a nation of people intent on keeping the invading hordes at bay – the only problem being that many among their base are starting to wake up to the fact that promises made have not been promises kept.

Thanks to Trump’s arrogance, stupidity, and an endless litany of lies, his disapproval numbers keep moving up, and his ‘base’ is shrinking – and given that his base isn’t enough to re-elect him, there is no margin of error to be counted on to turn the tide in his favour.

There are a lot of pissed-off people out there – and despite the efforts of the GOP, they’re not about to be un-pissed off anytime soon: the farmers losing their livelihood due to Trump’s tariffs, the middle-class workers whose wages are still stagnant and whose taxes went up after their promised tax-cuts went to the benefit of the wealthy, the military families who watched as the “pResident” tried to divert funds earmarked for their welfare to building his non-existent Wall, the teachers who are still paying out of their own pockets for school supplies, the people who are still mired in debt due to student loans, the sick who live in constant fear of having Obamacare overturned, the women who realize that their reproductive rights are being trampled, the decent people who are horrified by children in cages, the moral citizens who wonder why a blatantly immoral, lying pussy-grabber is still being proffered as a ‘chosen-by-God’ leader of a nation.

What we as Democrats have on our side is A LOT. While the GOP is still trying to take things away from the American people – from the right to vote to the right to earn a living wage – the Democrats are standing up for those rights. While the GOP is railing against the non-existent threat of a nation overrun by godless immigrants, the Democrats are offering solutions to our country’s many challenges based on facts, on science, on economic reality, and verifiable truths.

Nothing brings out voters like anger, and the anger of the citizenry is palpable. A wishy-washy “pResident” who merely pisses-off some of the people some of the time can hope to skate by on the complacency of the voting public. But thanks to Trump’s own actions, statements, and inane rhetoric, there aren’t enough complacent voters left to re-elect him. Even the dumbest of the dumb-asses recognize that a much-touted Wall on our southern border won’t pay down their mortgage, won’t result in a raise in their wages, won’t put their kids through college, and won’t save a family member from bankruptcy due to medical bills.

I believe that Trump’s ‘base’ is starting to catch on – not because they are concerned about their fellow citizens, or even the fate of their own country, but because Trump’s asinine policies are beginning to hit them where they live.

Keep in mind that while we’ve all heard Trump-humpers expressing their disappointment with his “presidency”, what we haven’t heard is a bunch of HRC supporters expressing their regret at not having supported Trump now that they’ve seen his accomplishments as pOTUS.

The tide is with us. The wind is at our backs as we begin the process of removing an immoral, treasonous, dumb-as-a-bag-of-rocks Dotard from our White House, as his ‘base’ begins to wonder why they ever trusted him, or his party, in the first place.

I predict that given how blatantly the GOP have reamed their own up the ass, having an (R) after one’s name in future will become the greatest liability any politician has to overcome.

“That’s the party that elected Trump” will be their undoing for generations to come, especially after his treason and crimes continue to be exposed, as his self-serving corruption is inevitably revealed, as his alignment with our enemies becomes more apparent.

It’s said that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned – I beg to differ. I believe that hell hath no fury like a Trump-humper who realizes that he’s no further ahead than he was before he voted for the guy who promised him everything, but delivered nothing of consequence to those who supported him.

“We’ve GOT this”, fellow Democrats – so get out the vote in order to prove it. And don’t be surprised by the former Trump-humpers who will be voting (D) along with you. Even the brain-dead are open to persuasion when it’s their own necks in the noose.

3. The unfortunate thing is a lot of those people

Aren’t paying attention except the farmers and people who paid a lot more in taxes. Most people like me who paid about the same lower middle class and we are many in this country if brain washed by Fox and always vote R may continue to do so.

I listened to my younger daughter who is a independent living in Texas tell me she is voting for Biden because he isn’t going to spend money on a bunch of free things. If they had a moderate republican running that is what they prefer.

I am very progressive and she knows it, I didn’t bother to state my case because her husband is officer in the military and they are well taken care of. She is one of those I worked hard so must everyone else no free lunch!

4. I guess I can understand

the "I worked hard, so everyone else must work hard too." But wouldn't it be a hell of a lot better if NONE of us had to work hard? I struggle every day at work and I wouldn't wish that on anyone! Hell, I wish my generation (which is X by the way. Oh and also the best, thank you very much.) would be the last to have to work hard. If I could, I would gladly snap my fingers and make everyone's life a shit ton easier, with no hard work involved.

By the way, nothing that is being proposed is "free". It'll all be paid for with tax money, most of which will probably come from fixing our jacked up system of taxation that favors the ridiculously wealthy.

I don't know. I'm not someone who enjoys a challenge. Life is hard enough. Why make it harder by "taking on a new, challenging role at work" or "taking up jogging".

In my opinion, life shouldn't be a 76ish year struggle. If that's considered laziness on my part, F it. I'm lazy then.

5. LOL, love it and feel your pain!

I wanted to retire the day I started work in Jan 1968 and would have been happy as hell to do so. Plenty of interests, hobbies, etc to occupy me full time. 44 years later, I retired from what was essentially the same company, although the company name changed eight times. I worked hard as hell and hated every minute of it, not the work at all, just having to do it, on my time dammit! Now I have all the time in the world, that's left for me at least, and the money to enjoy it.

I gotta tell ya', life sucks and then you die.

6. Once the economy implodes it's foregone conclusion

They lit the fuse with their tax plan. The impacts of climate change coupled with Trump's foolish tariffs and this runaway kleptocracy are accelerants. Their supply side fantasy is destructive and suicidal. I will have no sympathy for them when the perfect economic storm hits and they suffer for it because they are taking us down with them unwillingly.

9. Same thoughts here just like the blame on Clinton or even Kerry by some but not the propaganda

Or the citizen$ united rule
After all trump has done since 16, he still beats all Dem candidates with m/f white voters in polls. That group can carry many red states with farmers etc
I think any financial losses they experience will not pass the gains they perceive for the only culture they want
Pro choice defeats , trans out of military , brown refugees in cages , no remorse or cash for environment , military displays , minority voter surpressiion, Christian priority & I got mine no one else now attitude accepted as a “good person’s “ ideal stance - that is lots of candy to keep them voting trump and in thier hearts it is called patriotism and for the good of the the land
No investigation in to foreign interference for election 2020 can seal it

11. It's not looking good for Trump.

His approval is severely underwater in all the swing states plus Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, and even Texas. The economy is at its peak. He’s unlikely to win much more support.

Obviously anything is possible, but Democrats are in a good position to win 2020.

12. This isn't 2016.

People who voted for him to “shake up the system” aren’t likely to vote for him again. Plus Democrats are wise to Russian propaganda this time and will probably turn out in droves.

Of course, Trump could win but it’s much less likely this time, despite him being an incumbent with a good economy.

13. Trumpets will vote for Putin before they vote Dem

Our only hope is that they stay home and the Dem nominee puts together a campaign like Obama.
