It must be very challenging, very difficult to make a soul-wrenching choice...

Which stock should we cash-out first so that we don't have to get a job while attending college.
Damn, life had to be tough as all hell. I bet they only dreamed of car elevators in those hard-scrabble days.

Back then they might have had to use a hand-cranked car elevator

Out walking my dog I've seen two houses with car lifts in the garage... in my middle-class neighborhood. The houses in my neighborhood are all about $125k-$175k. I know several coworkers with car elevators. They're extremely hand to do self-maintenance or park two small cars in one spot. I thought about getting one myself when I was doing my own car work.

The garage probably cost 175K. That puts him out of touch with me in my 250K house.
