It's not every day a panel of judges rules that you're a racist

When the Texas redistricting plan was struck down this week the three judge panel ruled unanimously that the plan intentionally discriminates against Hispanics... that it was intentionally drafted for the purpose of discriminating against hispanics.

None of this oblique 'disparate impact' stuff... not that the redistricting plan has discriminatory effect...

More like, Look, you guys sat around a table with a map and a magic marker and said, "How can we screw Hispanics out of Constitutionally mandated representation?"

A redistricting plan signed by Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) intentionally discriminated against Hispanic voters, a three-judge panel unanimously ruled Tuesday. The judges found that seats belonging to white incumbent members of Congress were protected under the plan while districts belonging to incumbent minorities were targeted for changes.

The court was “persuaded by the totality of the evidence that the plan was enacted with discriminatory intent,” according to the ruling. There was “sufficient evidence to conclude that the Congressional Plan was motivated, at least in part, by discriminatory intent,” the court found.

The three judges said they were overwhelmed with the amount of evidence showing the congressional redistricting plan was intentionally discriminatory, writing in a footnote that parties “have provided more evidence of discriminatory intent than we have space, or need, to address here.”

Don't insult a Neanderthal - most of them was nice it looks - and pretty well adjusted for their enviroment.... And the art they have given the world, is still impressive - even after more than 20-40.000 year..

I guess they're just an easy target, what with being extinct and all.

There needs to be a Neanderthal lobby to prevent stuff like that.

Poor cavepeople, always being associated with louts and shitheads.

I have also wondered why the Neanderthals is being picked on all the time - after all, they ARE one of our ancestors - as experts on the matter believe it was possible to interbreed between modern humans, and Neanderthals - and that it is more than possible that the modern human of today, is the result of that experiment At least, that we have some of the same genes as the Neanderthals had when they was around..

They might have been just cave people, but the last 150 years have discovered that the Neanderthal culture was far more "advanced" then believed when the first Neanderthals was discovered, in the city of Neanderthal in Germany... In fact from what we have discovered, it looks like they had a great deal of what we will say is culture this days - and their cave paintings is by large one of the greatest evidence of a rich culture - who also we, modern humans shared to a degree... It took us a couple of thousands of years to discover that we can build houses - villages and towns on the flat land, instead of hiding in cages.. And for some reason or another, it kind of exploded, and over the last 6-8000 year we have going from living in caves, to live in sky scrapers...

Because of their adaptation to the cold they do look brutish, by our standards.

But they were probably not such bad folks. Considering that we genocided them our of existence they may have been a lot nicer than we are!

Once we can identify them and get them away from positions or power, maybe we can better fix the institutionalized racism of the system.

friend after watching Gov Perry, said that's my boy. I asked him, have you heard him talk or give a speech or understand his policies? No was the answer. I told him he should listen to the guy talk before you make up your mind about this guy, he's really fucking dumb and a complete rascist of the highest order. In fact, I told him I thought Perry was dumber than "W". I was right on all accounts. There are a lot of people like my friend who judge people by the way they look. He supposedly looks smart, that's debatable. The moral here is people really should listen to "their boy" before they choose. Things ain't always what they seem.
