Holy cow. Trump and this Iran episode is getting like total bullshit

An ex-military expert said there was zero chance he wasn't briefed on potential deaths long before - at the outset. Trump states it only knew at the end before start.

So his bullshit deal about saying last minute he asked the question..how many would die...is pure theater.

He either is a total and complete incompetent CIC...who couldn't even bring himself to read a brief?

Or he is bullshitting to portray himself as some kind of human rights beacon.

Then ... amazingly...he just said he would obliterate Iran. WTF ? Thought you JUST we're worried about the 150 people who would have died that Pence and Bolton weren't worried about?

Is Anonymous still there?

Yet, I believe it could be true. The lying about stupid stuff is now playing out. We can't even believe our president about a military attack. Oh wait...Bush/Cheney redux.

and perhaps the whole story is almost entirely fiction

Donnie has an extremely limited attention span, and a tendency towards inventing at the slightest pretext stories that temporarily seem convenient to him, without any feeling that what he says now should be consistent with whatever he said the day before yesterday or even ten minutes ago

Maybe he sat through two days of staff saying stuff like We have to react somehow! and What can we tell the public we've been doing? -- while he was watching Fox and planning his next Twitter spasm -- and then when he had the chance, he suddenly just blurted out some complete nonsense

Fri Jun 21, 2019, 08:42 PM
Jun 2019

According to reports, he he was briefed about the plan at a security meeting yesterday at 3pm, and then he got on the phone to people to ask their last minute advice.

My money says he either talked to Putin of Mohammed 'bone-saw' Salman, who advised him against it. The only things Colonel Blimp (aka Pompeo) and Major Mustache (aka Bolton) think about is the fact that Iran can't beat the USA in a conventional military war of attrition. (Although, it would FINISH the U.S. financially to fight such a war. It cost the USA probably $5 TRILLION dollars, and thousands of US soldiers dead just to knock over Saddam in Iraq; and all of that without replacing him with a democratic leader. After all that blood and treasure, Iraq is not an IRANIAN satellite. Iran would be ten times harder to tackle, even by CONVENTIONAL military means. The population is three times the size of Iraq, and has five times the unity and fighting strength. They're all the same race (Persians), and are not composed of several warring ethnic and religious factions.)

But leaving that aside, Putin and MBS both know Iran's REAL strength is in their formidable skills at asymmetric warfare. They know that if the US bombed Iran, Iran would basically blow up (metaphorically) Syria and Yemen, causing unbelievable trouble for Putin and MBS. And probably also cause trouble for Israel, by getting Hezbollah to shower Israel with rockets from Lebanon.

Meanwhile, U.S. military policy is being run by a bunch of morons who only know how to count the number of TANKS each side has.

i picked up several works and phrases which obviously came from his briefings, as they were def not in his vocabulary.

i dont think he asked it. i think the generals, wanting to stop him from dropping the bombs, reminded him that people would die.
or told him to say that the deaths were why, even tho the reason was that pootie told him no.

It's a total setup by someone much smarter than Trump: -- look, see how Trump can show thoughtful restraint.

So next year, when he starts the war to aid in his election bid, he can have some veneer that he doesn't want to hurt innocent people, and has no other choice than war with Iran.

Many will buy this theater. Anyone paying attention knows Trump doesn't care who lives or dies, or how. He only cares about himself. Exhibit 1 -- Central Park 5. Exhibit 2 - inhuman treatment of asylum seeking refuges at our southern border.

But, suddenly he cares about 150 people from what he perceives is a sh*t hole country that he says is a threat to the USA? Give me a break...

Add to that in all probability no thought was even given to what allies would be behind us if we made such a move. Actually, maybe they did think about it and the answer was nobody. Who wants to be an ally of a leader who lies and makes things up? We don't even know who our secretary of defense will be in a few weeks.
