1. I am happy that as teens my kids are still checking added sugar grams and choices are still

being weighed based on nutrition . They also have started tnotice now that they are older how illness and obesity may follow poor choices in adults.
I thought for sure they would drop it as teens
glad they are smart enough to keep vigil with out being neurotic or preachy to others . The occasional milkshake or doughnut? Sure, but to me itís when it is consistent in the diet that it can harm

I have a friend who brings his own snacks over when he visits .... claims the house doesnít have any ďgood ď snacks although we have plenty of munchies just not a lot of junk food I guess
Iím fine with that and not insulted - to each his own . Itís a choice

2. Yes and no

Congrats on the success. I'm still a work in progress. Better but still significant challenges getting past food cravings.

it's a choice

Not as much as you think. That is one of the main points of both Fed Up and the WHO report.
The objective of focused and concentrated advertising, especially to the young, creates lifelong and engrained addictions that are very hard to overcome.

It literally no different than cigarette advertising and why they banned it.

The documentary really makes that crystal clear. It eye-opening but has some very sad stories.

3. True I was with some people who told me about brain scan studies on certain food additives too

Food co know what they are doing with addictive chemicals too . Itís not just sugar .
They know how to addict people to all kinds of cheap junk food though better science for massive profit

The scans showed parts of the brain changed by excessive consumption of enhanced flavor chemicals it was small but they could tell Who was a Doritos Pizza and sour cream massive eater versus a Super hot extra cheddar Cheetos eater just by looking at the brain scan because over time they realized it was always the same changes depending on the flavor combination used

Yes as bad as Camel Joe and nicotine ads pushed 100 feet from the grade school except itís often inside the grade school!
I will check out the film

I remember the book sugar blues from 100 years ago have you ever read it? It made that point about addiction and also the history . It also explored not just added sugar, but refined carbohydrates which was almost unheard of back then (at least around where I lived)that something like white bread was not so good
It may have been co written with the old time actress Gloria Swanson ?
I have to go for the day but I will try to find more about it and post later

4. This is the book I mentioned Sugar Blues . I read it years ago but it goes into the history

and health points . Itís old but it was a good read and the history has not changed

The harm since this was written has only increased imo diabetes here is off the charts now &kids not type 1 type 2!
Here is info about the book
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar_Blues

*While googling it looks like there is a movie with the same title I have no idea if it references the book but appears to be about the same subject

5. Outstanding info

Thank you for the information! It so important. That we know all this but continue to let it slide and do what could be irreparable damage to our future generations is what is most disturbing.
