Jim McGovern JUST SAID IT! Chairing the Rules Committee, he pointed out to Republican Lesko....

...."I would point out that this is the Democratic majority, not the Democrat majority!" Then Jamie Raskin pointed out that FDR called the party the "Democracy Party", and then said something about Lesko not being able to pronounce the name of the party (I'm paraphrasing here)

But it was GREAT that finally one ours pointed out the stupidity of saying "Democrat" instead of "Democratic".

I'll be looking for the video later tonight.

... Newt Gingrich for resurrecting the term.

Via WikiPedia:

(begin snip)
During the 1984 Republican National Convention, use of the term was a point of contention among the delegates.[27] When a member of the Republican platform committee asked unanimous consent to change the phrasing of a platform amendment to read Democrat Party instead of Democratic Party, New York Representative Jack Kemp objected, saying that would be "an insult to our Democratic friends;" the committee dropped the proposal.[6]

Newt Gingrich, in his efforts in the 1980s and 1990s to produce a Republican majority in the United States House of Representatives, relied heavily on words and phrases that cast Democrats in a negative light.[28] The phrase Democrat Party gained new currency when the Republican Party, led by Gingrich, gained control of the House of Representatives in 1994.[3]

In 1996, the wording throughout the Republican Party platform was changed from Democratic Party to Democrat Party: Republican leaders "explained they wanted to make the subtle point that the Democratic Party had become elitist".

47. There is no "Democrat Party"
Mon Jun 10, 2019, 11:47 PM
Jun 2019

The reason conservatives use the phrase, "democrat party" is because they no longer believe that America is a representative democracy. They don't believe in democracy. They believe in winning, and the very idea of "democracy" needs to be eliminated from the language altogether.
A favorite talking point from conservatives I keep encountering lately on comments threads is that "America is NOT a democracy, it is a republic."
Every time I encounter the phrase, "democrat party" I stop and tell whomever it is that they are not intelligent enough to be in the discussion because they are talking about a political party that does not exist. It works, too. They have no comeback.

Debbie Lesko accused of moving $50K from campaign to a PAC that backs ... Lesko

https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/elections/2018/02/21/debbie-lesko-accused-moving-50-k-campaign-pac-backs-lesko/361429002/

Congressional candidate Debbie Lesko last month steered $50,000 from her state Senate campaign to a federal political-action committee that has supported her in the West Valley race, a move one of Lesko’s opponents claimed is illegal in complaints filed this week.

The $50,000 transaction laid out in campaign-finance records underpins complaints to the Federal Election Commission and Arizona attorney general made by Phil Lovas, who is also seeking the Republican nomination for the vacant 8th District seat.

Steve Montenegro, who is also vying for the GOP nomination, also condemned the maneuver.

Lovas said the movement and use of the funds reflect coordination that violates campaign-finance rules.

"This is an illegal money-laundering scheme," he said. "They're clearly in violation of the law. They knew 70 percent of the vote would be in by the time this comes out. ... I think it's clear that there's coordination."

Adjectives modify nouns. Using a noun to modify another noun is grammatically incorrect. Then again, the leader of the Republican Party has a 77 word English vocabulary. Everything else he spews is Jerklish.
Joseph McCarthy began using the term Democrat Party to marginalize Democrats. If the Publican Party wants to align with Joseph McCarthy, so be it.

both during his presidential campaign and as president. In a July 2018 campaign rally, he said that "The Democratic Party sounds too good so I don't want to use that, OK?" He added, "I call it the Democrat Party. It sounds better rhetorically." At a September 2018 rally he said, falsely, that "When you see 'Democratic Party,' it's wrong. There's no name, 'Democratic Party.'" At the Conservative Political Action Conference in 2019, he stated he liked to say, "the ‘Democrat Party,’ because it doesn’t sound good. But that’s all the more reason I use it, because it doesn’t.”

A history of the use of the term, going back to 1890, can be found in Wikipedia.
