Election in the history of the Republic. If the Democratic party cannot instill that sense of urgency into a plurality of the voting public we and the planet are DOOMED. Another Trump and Republican Senate victory will insure a Federalist judiciary for the next 20-30 years and a move backwards in time of at least a half century.

The republicans have to control the White House and Senate above all else or they are toast and they know it. I also am not confident that the Democratic leadership really grasp the situation. They are acting like these are normal times and these are not normal times. I really don't have a solution other than a full attack on the republican party non stop. Trump, as bad as he is, is a side show compared to what is really going on. The republicans don't need trump. They never did and could end him at a moments notice. Hell...Pence would have given them everything they want. I am also convinced that trump had nothing to do with picking Barr. That was 100% McConnell and all part of buying time. I suspect trumps only leverage with the party is all the dirt he has on them and I am sure it is a lot. That is what all mobsters do if they can't buy someone off. Just do a little digging in the closet. As I see it the republicans are running out the clock while stopping in the Senate any meaningful bills that will take away their advantages. Next thing we know the election is over, they keep the White House and at least the Senate, and the nation is screwed for a very long time. Fuck decorum. They need to be called out by individual name every single day until the media starts paying attention which would force them to defend themselves publicly. The media loves a fight...let's give them one.
Heck...maybe even set up a separate investigative committee just to investigate the conspiratorial behavior of the republican party. At a minimum start with a McConnell investigation. Now that would get headlines.

is that this sort of talk will convince people that voting is futile.

Of course, voting is more important than ever in 2020. The election will not be rigged other than the usual shenanigans which we will overcome if we vote, but there will be plenty of deplorable assholes voting, so we need to far outnumber them this time.

BTW, was the 2018 election rigged for the Republicans? If so, they didn't do a very good job, did they? This outcome shows that if we vote, we win.
