My conclusions about the MAGATs

I’ve come to accept we and the MAGATs are incompatibly divided with irreconcilable differences. And to be honest I refuse to give up my principles, even a little for the sake of a fake compromise with people who hate science, are racist, want to take women’s rights away and don’t even have the intelligence to realize the planet needs immediate attention just to maintain their useless lives.

Trying to compromise with these ignorant simian brained fools is a waste of energy and of valuable time. We need to realize we are at war with people who really hate us, and they will not ever change until life itself throws them a hell of a curve ball. I’m not willing to go along with putting children into cages, or being cavalier about people dying for lack of medical care, or forcing women to have deadly abortions or allowing young Black men to be murdered or children slaughtered in their schools. Which one of those would we give up for the sake of compromise?

I have no intention of giving up one iota of my belief that we all deserve equal rights and equal, opportunity. Even them. I’m tired to death of MAGAT mentality and stupidity and avarice and mean spiritedness, and groundless rage, and self pity, and whining, and demands.

I understand them perfectly and I divorce them. There is no compatibility. To hell with them.

Some people have supported Trump just because they are really nincompoops

Others have supported Trump just because they are un-informed

Still others have supported Trump just because they are anti-government ideologues or white nationalist extremists or such

And some of the rest have supported Trump because they're expecting a nice pay out

These groups are not all the same, and we need to handle them differently

He tweets his insane Malignant narcissism every day, 50 times a day. How determined does anybody have to be to not listen to Trump turned up to 11 fifty times a day? Is that even possible?

If we can’t avoid him to save our asses how can they? He keeps the fanfare going full throttle. So I find it difficult to believe Trump’s base is unaware of him anymore than we are. Perhaps the first year, but not anymore. He’s about as subtle as a tooth abscess.

The endless details of daily life?

Every adult person is accountable for what they do and say. Even for what they choose not to do or say. I don’t know of anyone who isn’t aware of what Trump does, even on the most casual level. Try mentioning Trump’s name and you’ll know immediately what side every person falls on. Of my acquaintances there are some that are truly not interested in politics and they aren’t even remotely aware of his latest rage or outrage, but every single one is aware that it must be an outrage because they’ll just roll their eyes and sigh as if they know what he’s done, yet again, and again.

Sure, some are ignorant or “too busy”. But ignorance in their case is willful, which I don’t feel I wish to excuse anymore. The only ones I pity or don’t condemn are the pre-teen children. The ones whose souls are being bent and warped by a constant diet of hate from their elders.

That's probably the largest group of all, but it's one we generally forget exists or (sometimes intentionally) ignore. I've spent much of my life in red states and many will automatically vote for anyone with an R, including Trump. There isn't much more to it for them.

We really want them all to be idiots or extremists, but assuming so misses the big picture.

I live among them in central Pa. and the #1 answer they give me when I ask them why they voted for Trump was that they could never vote for Hillary. The next Democratic nominee will get the same treatment as Hillary got.
The M$M is also complicit in spreading propaganda to the unwashed. People who only watch Fox will have a very different view of reality. This James O'Keefe guy who is now doctoring videos to make people look incapacitated should be punched right in his fat nose.

I agree with the poster of this thread, I don't argue with them. Most of them are racists, anti-women. and they fell asleep and their bodies got snatched up by evil, alien Republican creatures.

The worst of the Trumpers are the ones who know better, the ones who want to see our democracy fail, who are in it for the money.

Have you asked them how they feel about brown children put in cages? Or thousands of Puerto Rican’s left to die after hurricane Maria hit, when Trump could have done something about it?

There are tons of questions you could come up with yourself. I’m assuming you know the litany of Trumpian hateful actions and words.

I have relatives who I would attest to being good people, until they shock me with the retweets or the endless hate filled Facebook postings of pure hatred against brown and Black people and Democrats. I’ve stopped making excuses for them too. I’ve tried to dispel their hatred with facts until I just can’t anymore. So I abandon them to their hate because I do have myself to save.

We took back the House, which effectively had 100% of the power in Congress by taking back 50% of that power. And we did it the right way. We will do it again by electing a Democratic President who will respect our judicial system and intelligence agencies and restore the rights of everyone.

That’s a winning strategy without even going the fascist route you seem to want to copy.

she asked Beto O'Rourke what he has found in travelling the country and talking to people. He told of meeting a couple famers in Iowa who live near the Missouri River and how their farm is flooded and their unsold soybeans are "exploding" the silos. All these poor farmers wanted was help to recover from the flooding and get back to farming. I felt a pang of sympathy and then thought, elections have cosequences. These two probably voted proudly for Trump because of guns and too many government regulations and racism, but now that they are in trouble, well Uncle Sam should come in and bail them out. My answer to them would be pull yourselves up by your own muddy, soggy bootstraps. If you can't, well, tough nuts.

Because on balance they were good people, and you could always find excuses to overlook their “slight” misogyny. He was just a product of his time. But that excuse just doesn’t cut it anymore. You can’t be a truly good person if you hate women that much. And maybe if you dug just a bit you might have found he harbors hatred for more than just women.

I could overlook it before because on balance the good side wins, but when they choose to still love Trump now, when he’s shown he’s a truly cruel human being to hurt the most blameless of human beings, brown children, some of whom have died as a direct result of his needless, unnecessary, arbitrary, deliberate viciousness, how can anyone still make excuses or overlook such a life altering policy. There comes a point of no return in self revealing beliefs shown by such “good” people.

Every woman who has ever been regularly beaten by her otherwise “good provider” spouse comes to that point of acceptance that he is not a good person at all. That he will continue to beat her until he kills her. If she doesn’t do something to save herself, he is likely to kill her. Yet, by most standards he’s still a good person in the eyes of his friends, his acquaintances and the world.

the wife of one of my hubby's golfing friend last night-

Friendly enough on our back patio - she is from TX...small talk, getting to know you kinda chit chat..then she goes into a story about her friend, who's husband is carrying on a tryst at the CC (Country Club..of which I have ZERO interest in)..

She tells me she confronted the little twit in the lady's room..and how everyone at the CC knows about their affair...she is telling me ALL this...(oh, and the little twit went around saying this gal from TX hit her, not true).. okay..they get ready to go..hand shake, hug, and then she says - "I'm for trump" - clearly she did not expect my reaction - SHE JUST MET ME - WTF..

I took her story of confrontation in the lady's room, and invited her to join me in my lady's room..just she and I, and we can have a little chat..AND I told her I wouldn't hit her...I was emphatic, but moderate in tone...kinda like guys do, let's take this outside..but, with a smile on my face..flustered, she was...

Walking out to their golf cart in our driveway..she took a swipe at the eight years of Obama...REALLY???walking away????? I got the last word as they drove off...I said " get used to it", remember this name", and I threw out my choice for Dem Prez... and said "by now"...this all transpired within 2 minutes walking out..tops…..

I told my husband, (we have agreed to NOT talk politics with HIS friends), because he was thinking I started it, I said, "she started it"....my motto has always been - I won't start it, but, I sure as hell will finish it....boom.....he said now that I know what happened...good on you girl....the kicker..SHE KNOWS hubby is a DEM....he said I will take care of it at the CC..I told him I can fight my own political battles...with a smile.....

I have no problem confronting authority or stupidity when it gets in my face or has every intention of hurting others. I respect the rights of others to be stupid if that’s what they want the world to see. I’ll even get along to get along, but start something with me or with someone who can’t fight back, and they soon find out it was really best when they didn’t start something.

When I was bringing up my son and nephew I taught them to never look for a physical fight. To use the most important muscle they had, their brain, to win, BUT, if they couldn’t get out of a fight then I wanted them to fight to WIN! They actually listened. After one or two fights people left them alone.
