What specifically do you expect Mueller to say in his testimonyLast edited Fri May 24, 2019, 12:24 PM - Edit history (1)
that would influence or matter to you that would not be communicated in a transcript of his testimony?
Please be specific. Note: I'm not asking for your opinions about how Mueller's testimony might influence someone else. This is a question directed to each of you. What do you expect that Mueller would say in his testimony that could influence or make a difference to you in any way that wouldn't influence or make a difference to you if you read it in a transcript?

1. I don't think trump will allow Mueller to testify in any way....public or private

2. TV will socialize Mueller's words and voice way better than transcripts, we can agree on that ...
... republicans can distort Mueller's words easier with transcripts, we can agree on that.
Republicans can be assholes and unproductive without TV, that we can agree on also |

4. He's going to repeat what he wrote in his report, or even refer House to his report.
He and Barr are friends. Heck, I think their wives are even close friends.
Unless Mueller has a change of heart -- allegiance -- the hearing will be boring and tell us nothing. It might even give trump more ammunition to keep yelling "fake investigation," and similar BS. That's the sad truth. |

5. Perhaps Mueller is no longer friends with Barr
Somehow I don't think he trusts him much anymore. His wife would surely follow his lead regarding her friendship with Barr's wife.

6. What makes you think that? Has Mueller stood up and said Barr lied, and I missed it?

7. We'll find out soon but I suspect Mueller is no longer friends with
Barr. He's too intelligent to put up with Barr's BS not to mention his lack of respect for the law and his country.

9. When? If Mueller were ticked, he should have gone to media. But he didn't.
Or, he'd say he wanted to appear for a public hearing.
The only thing Mueller has done is write a letter 3/27/2019 saying that Barr's 4 page letter didn't present all the work Mueller's team did. Barr has now released a redacted report, and we haven't heard a peep from Mueller in over a month. Doesn't sound like a man ticked off to me. I'd be on every show that would have me from MSNBC, CNN, Bill Maher, Colbert, etc., if I were Mueller and mad. Mueller should have been more direct in his report, he choose to be a Company Man and beat around the bush. |

13. Not an answer to my question
I said expressly that I wasn't asking for opinions about what other people might think.
I asked what he would say that would influence YOU that wouldn't be revealed in a transcript. |

no one will answer your very specific question. It makes me wonder why that is.

12. But I'll answer your question
I think listening to Mueller's voice, inflections, demeanor and body language will communicate more information to me than just reading reports and transcripts.

14. That doesn't answer my question.
What kind of information would be conveyed to you in live testimony that would influence you that could only be communicated non-verbally?

16. I guess I wasn't clear
His voice, mannerisms, body language, pauses, are all things that would communicate to me whether he was being truthful, happy about the questions, had confidence in his answers, and other things. I'm no lawyer, but I have been watching people on witness stands and at negotiations for over 5 decades, and I can usually tell when someone is squirming. Some people are better at hiding it than others (especially good politicians) but I can usually discern something that would not be in a cold transcript.
Remember Clapper squirming during that hearing he went through? I don't remember the details, but I could tell he was not happy with what he was saying. ETA: And if we get really fine-grained, I guess maybe I STILL didn't answer your specific question as to what could he SAY that might influence my perception. To me it not so much what he would say, but how he would say it. It is still additional communication. |

18. I see
You need to see him testify to be assured he's not perjuring himself, regardless what he says in his testimony.
Gotcha. Thanks. ![]() |

19. I want him to say
1) Did YOU end your investigation or were you ORDERED to end it? 2) If you weren't ordered to end it, could you have decided yourself if tRUMP was guilty of OBSTRUCTION? 3) Did you want Congress to decide the OBSTRUCTION? 4) ANY RETHUGLICON ask you for any evidence you had? Are you satisfied with how your report was summarized by BARR? ON and ON and ON
