People voted for Democrats in the last election so they could oversee the Executive Branch....

Because Republicans failed miserably.

They never wanted to get to the truth. From Mitch McConnell, to Paul Ryan, to Devin Nunes, they all carried water for Donald Trump and ignored the facts staring them in the face.

In a landslide, Democrats took back the House. The people wanted oversight of the lawless presidency. Donald Trump has not yet accepted that reality. He thought he could continue to be the dictator forever.

The investigations have now crossed his "red lines". They are looking for his tax returns and his financial statements. It is working its way thru the Courts. So far, they have not been kind to Donald Trump.

If this is more than Mr Trump can handle, there is a simple solution. He can resign the presidency. Otherwise, he should know that the investigations are just beginning.

His lies, stone-walling, and cover-ups will not work. Neither will his Nuremburg rallies with his followers. He will answer to the law, hopefully sooner than later.

Democrats got a strong mandate from the 2018 election to make Trump accountable. That's the #1 reason I voted.

Someone had to hold him accountable.

Certainly not in NY State. I suppose if he did resign, Pence would pardon him.

But I suspect NY State won't back off.

what the Blue Wave was all about. You nailed it. And this is why they are stupid to claim the American people don't want Trump investigated. They also told us we weren't going to do all that well in 2018, didn't they? And all they have done since is try and pretend we didn't make a difference. Ignore the noise. Listen to Kentuck and other sane voices!

They were telling us that Democrats only had a slim chance to take back the House.

Yes, we need to all remember this fact, Trump's base is what it is. It is not going to grow any larger. If Trump's base shows up to vote and our base shows up to vote, we win, even with election shenanigans.

Resign with a deal to stay out of jail and go away forever, or not resign and be dragged out of the White House by Impeachment or election.

And then go to jail.

For a weasel like him, he will resign rather than face the legal consequences for his actions. As for the commercial consequences of his actions, the Trump brand is dead. And since he valued that at $4 billion on his financial statements, he's now the biggest loser.

until he, and every corrupt member of his administration, are serving life sentences (without the possibility of parole) in Leavenworth Kansas, federal penitentiary. If the punishment is supposed to fit the crime, here is the best option.

Even if they take all of his crime family's money and toss him out on the street to fend for himself he will self implode with no one left to bail him out. Daddy is dead, Putin and the Saudis and Sheldon Adelson won't bank roll him anymore. He and his spawn don't know how to earn an honest living.
