The Republican Speaker of the House, sitting in the chair in the first photo, click for image, was Henry Hyde, seen here with his mistress he was using when he was a younger Congressman, their affair described in the following article:

The Republican and the beautician

As debate intensifies over whether to release President Clinton's video-taped testimony to the grand jury, the head of the Judiciary committee, which has the power to launch impeachment proceedings, has suddenly come under the spotlight.
Henry Hyde, chair of the House of Representatives' Judiciary Committee, has admitted to carrying on a five-year relationship with a younger married woman 30 years ago.

Henry Hyde, then 41-years-old and married, was a lawyer and rising star in Republican state politics. When asked, he described the relationship as a "youthful indiscretion" and labelled the allegations as an attempt to intimidate him.

The affair

The story broke when Salon, a politically influential San Francisco-based Internet magazine, published a story chartering Mr Hyde's affair with Cherie Snodgrass, a former beautician. The headline read: This hypocrite broke up my family, The secret affair of Henry Hyde, the man who will judge President Clinton.

Only two of those Impeachment Managers are left in Congress, I think: Lindsey Graham, and James Sensenbrenner, heir to the vast KOTEX empire, both 2nd from the right in their rows.

Henry Hyde was quick to lash out and attack people who criticized his conscious decision to continue his affair with his mistress even after the husband begged him to leave her alone was odd to behold considering he was also attacking Bill Clinton for his behavior during the impeachment. Republicans have such flexible "standards" when they have something to gain on both sides.

It is interesting tor remember how two faced they all were at the time, especially when you learned several of them were having extra-marital affairs at the very same time they were attacking Clinton, including Newt Gingrich.

1. Crap. I had forgotten about Bill McCollum, my old rep. He came a long way from "My Three Sons."

That guy ran for so many offices in Florida that I think finally some people who did not know who he was just voted for him because his name sounded familiar and they liked the TV show.

15. I remember how Monica had some fun with McCollum

when he interviewed her salaciously. To his question she answered something like, "I'd tell you, but it might put a crease in your shirt." All the other guys who "interviewed" her dressed down (to make her more comfortable), but McCollum wore a suit and tie.

2. How shameful. Now THIS was political. I was about 25 and I didn't know many politicians. But I

remember thinking that this whole 'charge' was bullshit and I remember thinking that Linda Tripp was a major disgusting scumbag.

And now you show me that foul fuck in rump's tiny hand Graham up there as a 'manager' and today look at him.
Oh yes History is gonna have a field day.

8. No, it was his brother, Senator Tim Hutchinson, who fooled around with his aide.

He divorced his first wife for her.

A BJ was good enough for the gop....but russian collaboration...I say russian collaboration...not good enough to raise an eyebrow from todays gop. Wow.

9. They were so awful then, their nasty faces left indelible imprints.

It seems it hasn't been nearly long enough since we've seen them.

Yeah, they all shrieked their lungs out over how shocked they all were that Bill Clinton had "lied" about his relationship. They couldn't shut the #### up about it. Why doesn't it drive them insane hearing Trump lie many times every day? Maybe they've all gone deaf.

6. I still remember Bob Barr.

Is on his third (maybe more) marriage, and took the 5th about his cheating on his 1rst wife.

He was one of the noisiest "moral stalwarts" in congress at that time.

11. They started out pompous, preachy, and ridiculous. They got worse every year.

It seems only yesterday Lindsey followed John McCain around, all over the world, Iraq, Colombia, etc., so thrilled to be with his master.

13. Yea, how Lindsey paraded around, ushering Bill into perjury trap scenarios like it was all fun

And now this Bob BARR, who after the circus was over, went on to "bi-partisan" crap portrayed as "civil liberties." And don't get me started on Henry HYDE, although the Repuke Senators totally humiliated him. Zeus, I hate those days. And these days.
