...Should the House Judiciary accept it?
Usually in private hearings, both sides come out and spin what they heard, sometimes at total odds.
But, would this be better than nothing?

(54,195 posts)by far the most important thing he can do is add gravitas and bring the dry written findings to life.
talk behind closed doors, very likely to reveal not much that wasn't in the report, won't change anything by the time it's spun to the public.

(44 posts)Put an end to the protection racket that is DC! Congress is not a court of law...half of them are crooks. If they can see the evidence, let us see it.

(24,266 posts)Repugs are liars and they will just lie and no one will know for sure what is really said. The only way this would work would be a transcript released to the press within 24 hours by Nadler (no input from Jordan included). Otherwise it is a total waste of time.

(24,266 posts)if there is no written transcript they will just 100% totally lie. There is not one among them with enough principles to stand up to drumpf and Russia, other than Amash. Mueller knows this and doesn't care because, as he is making more plain every day, he is a repug before he is an American who cares about our laws or constitution.

(16,113 posts)If the only two choices are the surety of a closed session, or hold out for an open, televised testimony that may not happen, what is more important?
If you want to find out what he knows, or thinks, or ask questions about non-public redacted material, youll probably have to do a closed session.
If you want to use his testimony to try to shape public opinion, its open session or nothing.

The record of Mueller's testimony must be complete and correct, that's the important thing. The actual impeachment (or indictment) may not take place for a another couple of years. We need his testimony now even though we may not hear it until later.
