Like most Republicans in Washington today, they have surrendered everything to Donald Trump and the Trump Party.
If either McGahn or Mueller wanted to testify before the Congress, they could do it. McGahn is a private citizen. They must have de-nutted him real good? What do they find so intimidating about Donald Trump?
Nobody is physically restricting Mueller or McGahn. The decision is theirs to make and they do not choose to make it. If they cannot speak up at this time, they have no excuses. They do not wish to speak up. They are not profiles in courage.

(10,252 posts)they must have something on him. Maybe he lied to Mueller. Or maybe he obstructed, because he is certainly obstructing now. Maybe he took some dirty money. McGahn could be a national hero, like John Dean became. But alas, when we give any of them even a tiny little scratch on the surface, what we find is a moral degenerate.
And whatever it is, it must be serious enough that hes willing to risk arrest, fines and disbarment to stay clammed up in-service of Trump.

(35,454 posts)Yesterday Michael Schmidt said McGahn's law firm works for traitor trump which I knew was pure bunk, but then he and thr media get so much wrong these days. Why with McGahn is the question.
From April:
"Trump Fires Jones Day To Stick It To Don McGahn For Being Vaguely Competent
Trump lashes out at the firm that's bent over backward for him"
Campaign officeals and advisers cast the decision to hire Nathan Groth a former lawyer for the Republican National Committee and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker as a money-saving move, supported by the businessman-turned-president who loves to cut costs.
But close Trump advisers say the decision also stems from disappointment with the White Houses former top attorney and current Jones Day partner, Don McGahn, whose behavior has irked the president and some of his family members.
Taking business away from Jones Day is payback, these advisers say, for McGahns soured relationship with the Trump family and a handful articles in high-profile newspapers that the family blames, unfairly or not, on the former White House counsel.

(2,992 posts)so I don't think he wanted to testify to begin with. He didn't and still doesn't want to be forced to tell the truth about Trump.
