What has Donald Trump turned over?
He is still doing business like it was 2015, only now, his money is easier to make.
He has wiped his ass on the Constitution, especially the emolument clause. He and the Republicans act as if it doesn't apply to him? What kind of stupid shit is that?
He rents out his hotel rooms, just down the street, to the Saudis and other foreign partners of his. He pretends that it doesn't matter. The Republicans grovel along with him.
But if Jimmy Carter, and other presidents, had to do away with their businesses, how is Donald Trump any better? He walks like a duck but acts like a scofflaw.
This alone is enough to impeach him but politics somehow stands in the way.
I do not doubt but that impeachment would create even more division. That puts the Democrats in a very tough position. But, they must find someway to get to the truth. They must have access to documents to assure our national security is protected. They must be able to speak to witnesses that can validate certain facts.
If impeachment is the only option left, then they should consider using it. Do what they know is right and let the chips fall where they may. Victory is not assured either way.

(12,881 posts)It's really sad, but the level of concern here is pretty muted. American people should be furious and outraged .. and just aren't. A direct consequence of years of being told, "they're all up for sale," "government to the highest bider .."? That was only ever a partial (and sometimes convenient?) truth. And we're paying for it now. Now, when we have a leader who clearly IS a grifter and a crook .. and the people just shrug and say, "whatever."

He nearly lost both the farm and the home that he'd helped to build himself, he only saved them by selling the Carter Warehouse to pay down the debt.
