Even if the Dems started impeachment tomorrow, that wouldn't satisfy some people
They will be second-guess, harp, snipe, blame, and nsist they know better than the people who are actually doing th work.
So I'm glad Pelosi, Nadler and their colleagues aren't falling for the "just open impeachment hearings and all will be well and right with the world" bait. Because some people will never be satisfied since their sniping has little or.nothing to do with achieving the ends they claim and everything to do with trying to tear down Nancy Pelosi. (Psst. It ain't gonna work cause Nancy's not skeerdayu)

1. A lot of opinions are being offered by people who haven't a clue about how any of this works.
It's easy to sit at the computer and froth at the mouth about how the Democrats, and Pelosi especially, all suck because Trump hasn't yet been escorted out of the White House with his coat over his head. The question at this point, I think, isn't whether impeachment should occur, but how and when. The devil is always in the details, and the details, which are not well-understood by some keyboard warriors, have to be done exactly right.

5. Exactly!
I haven't seen Pelosi or any House.member say impeachment shouldn't happen, yet numerous journalist and all manner of people here keep insisting that they have, even after being corrected for the umpteenth time.
I have a feeling there's more to their claims than meets the eye ... |

18. In other words,
the folks in charge don't need or want your opinion. There are a lot of people out here who very likely know the pulse of the people a lot better than those in the bubble of D.C. . People have short attention spans and getting shorter every day.

19. Opinion is one thing
Constant harping, bashing, second-guessing and “you’re doing it all wrong, do it like I tell you to do” from people who don’t have the first clue about law or congressional procedure and don’t they can learn anything from people who do is a different thing and needs to be ignored.

20. Procedure means nothing to the criminals in charge.
After almost 2 years people want results. So far the only result people have heard is no collusion no obstruction. Not gulity time to move on. So while we follow procedure we lose interest and momentum.

23. But, if there are rules and only one side follows them
and the other side has the entire enforcement apparatus on their side, on their payroll...how do they ever get enforced?
Impeachment, no impeachment, at this point, I'm starting to think none of it actually matters anymore, because they own the courts and if they get a ruling against them that says "release x, y, and z to congress", they simply won't do it because there is no enforcement mechanism in place. Bashing? Not really. Feeling that it is already all lost? Yes. Maybe they are crossing all the t's and dotting all the i's so that they can make a case that they have done everything by rules, but in the end, I honestly doubt that even the word impeachment will cause any documentation to be turned over or anyone to defy Trump and his minions and testify. |

30. Technically ... the word "impeachment" wont cause any documents to be handed over ... period.
There's no greater importance given to impeachment than any other congressional investigation that ... COULD ... lead to impeachment.
Basically what Pelosi said the other day. |

31. I'm anxious about the "no way to enforce the rules" part too, Bettie.
I seem to recall that the Koch Bros wanted to begin a committee for Constitutional changes? Obviously, the AG wants a whole lot of rules to not apply to the person elected to fill the Presidency as well as those he's appointed to serve in his admin and GOP party-line reps in Congress as well, nor does anyone really HAVE TO follow traditions that were not considered needed by the framers back then. If the SCOTUS deck is also stacked purposefully, and our rules only depend on their biased subjective interpretations, just where will the People and the Congress, one of the co-equal branches, and their committee investigators go when what amounts to a dictator and his "hand" say they do not need to follow rules of any kind and treat rules like some arbitrary ambiguous traditions that need not be performed. It's been noted by media guests that we are in Constitutional Crisis now - how can the rule of law that supposedly states that no one is above the law, especially the POTUS, be enforced and protect us from His tyranny.
In addition, the electoral college, stands to even out representation and was thought to be a sort of fail-safe to the People choosing the wrong person to fulfill that all-important dynamic duo office, but states have mandated how voting goes under many instances of gerrymandering, a biased approach to voting, as if the fail-safe function doesn't exist as well. Are we saying that we as a People can actually vote to end our democratic form of government and the electoral college would uphold that vote??? What do I think? I believe the person holding the highest office in the land has not one shred of humanity's better qualities - NOT ONE! i certainly want to believe that Speaker Pelosi can guide our representatives toward what seems the only means of removing a person from that office who is not fit to serve BEFORE we need to fix what may become unfixable for America's future. If not, we may never get that chance again in many decades of lives. |

34. I'm fighting for the Democratic republic known as the United States.
If we lose the war the republic will be unrecognizable. They will make the laws, enforce the laws, determine who wins who loses. And guess what it won't be me or you. So if trying to kneecap them all now will help then so be it.

But strategy is critical if it’s to make any difference or constitutes more than just a short-term feel good exercise that has no real results in the long run.
