Huffpo founded by Breitbart + A. Huffington.????

Help me out here:

I was just having a guilty pleasure moment perusing photos from last night's Met Gala on HuffPo. While also tsk tsking at the excess, waste, and poor taste (part of what makes it pleasurable... 😂 I read this:

HuffPo is a media co. with a liberal bent, founded by A. Huffintgton and Andrew Breitbart.????!

WTF ???!!!!

We are doomed. It's all one big rigged effin' racket...

1. "How is someone else making money off of me because of this?"

is a question worth asking all the time.

But yes, it's the political-entertainment complex.

The bottom line is the bottom line is the bottom line.

Who benefits?

4. From what I understand

Breitbart was ultra liberal at one time. He got mad though when he was outed as gay so he went hard core right wing? Maybe I'm not 100% accurate. I could be getting him confused with someone else. I'll do some research...

17. Maybe someone else. Breitbart claimed to have been a "default liberal"...

...from a West Hollywood upbringing, but was outraged at the Democrats during the Clarence Thomas hearings (he would have been about 22 at the time). Then it was a steady diet of Rush and an assortment of conservative writers.

5. It's got little to do with the original Huffington Post

At some point AOL bought it and Ariana Huffington switched teams and made it more “liberal.” It’s mostly a clickbait shitshow for simpletons at this point, irrespective of any editorial bent it may claim.

9. Your timeline is a little "hinkey". She was a conservative up until 2004 when she endorsed Kerry..

and spoke at CA Dem convention in 2005. Huffington Post came on line with Arianna and four investors, including Breitbart, but also the current CEO of BuzzFeed in 2005, when Ariana was already a Democrat. AOL did not acquire it until 2011--six years later. Arianna continued as editor-in-chief under AOL ownership until 2016; Verizon negotiated to buy it in late 2015.

6. According to wikipedia

(so take it with a grain of salt) he supposedly had an epiphany while watching the clarence Thomas hearings and got made cuz liberals were being mean, so he became conservative. So, I guess he was conservative when he helped create huffpo? Whatever, now I'm confused. I just realized I don't know anything. Maybe I'll become a conservative.

7. In 2005 along with Kenneth Lerer and Jonah Peretti.

It is now owned by Verizon.

It should be noted that Ariana Huffington was a Republican until 2004. This isn't hidden information.

8. Andrew Breitbart died 7 years ago. He was a conservative a'hole, no argument

Ariana Huffington frequently appeared on cable "news" to debate him. He was one of her original four partners in 2005. She and her partners (including the now CEO of Buzzfeed) deny he had any development role though he did help to fund.

I guess you take the $$ where you can find it in the competitive as hell media world.

16. Never doubt that HuffPo is collecting and sharing your data

... unless you use a VPN or are somehow browsing anonymously, that's what they all are doing. Selling your data is how they stay in business.
