I don't think we should put too many chips on Robert Mueller.

I do not think he will try to discredit Bill Barr in any way.

He will say that it was Bill Barr's decision to make, whether or not he agreed with him. That was how the Special Counsel law was written.

He will say that Congress has their rights and responsibilities delineated by the Constitution.

He will admit thst we were attacked by Russia in a "sweeping and systematic fashion".

He will say he called them the way he saw them.

He will not tell the Congress what he thinks they should do.

He will be a very cautious and careful witness.

But everyone in DC will know, and all of us will know. It will be up to the House to dig deeper.

IMO what questions come from the committee members and the answers elicited is what will be relevant. There are ways to get at information, and I don't think Mueller will lie under questioning like Barr did.

But we shall see if he's more loyal to Barr and trump or the country.

Give him credit for what he has done. This short term adorning him with black hat now, short term before was a white hat. This repeating this black hat/white hat cycle over and over does not do justice to his work.

That Mueller supports Trumps domestic agenda 100%. We've seen it before with every other Republican. In the end they all fall in line.

It's the party of TRUMP. Conservatives and Republicans are a lost cause.

I never trusted Mueller or any of them. Period!

They are an enemy to this Democratic republic, the more of us whom realize this fact, the better off we'll be.

The only hope and trust is in those who resist and fight back.

Republicans can no longer be trusted to protect The country and they do not serve the constitution.

Tbh, I feel the Dems won't/can't do anything. Trump will serve out the remainder of his presidency. If we are fortunate enough to elect someone else in 2020, the sentiment will be to not focus on Trump, but to look to the future. Investigations into him will cease, and Trump will have gotten away with everything. Worse, this will now let the Republicans know they can get away with anything.

Mr. Mueller is honest and ethical.
He will not lie to the House.
He may not answer every question, but the answers he does give will be truthful.
He is also a true patriot.
He knows what is going on, and how Barr grossly distorted Mueller's report.
I expect there will be some interesting answers.
Also, I think the committee may phrase some questions to allow Mueller to say what he feels about the process, and what was really learned; including perhaps things that were not actually in the report but pertain to the situation.
Such as the subject matter of the 12 criminal referrals that we know nothing about.
Not the content, mind you, but the situations that lead to these referrals.

There is of course incentive to put a lot of faith in him because of his role in this investigation but I always thought that faith was unfounded. Would we trust Drumpf if he all the sudden claimed to be a Democrat? If not, then why was Mueller, a known war criminal, granted sainthood the second he was heading up this investigation?

I don't grant war criminals immunity just because they may happen to think/say the occasional negative thing about Drumpf, and neither should anyone else on DU, IMO.

I think that he will be of interest in the public hearing. I'm not disagreeing with anything you said here, but I do think he will speak about why his team prepared specific parts of the report to be made public immediately. I agree that he won't publicly attack Barr, but I am confident that he will accurately define their differences of opinion. He will also explain why the team's approach on obstruction did not, from the get-go, attempt to decide if there was adequate cause for indictment, were Trump not president.

Mr. Mueller -- for good or for bad -- has always taken a rather black and white approach to determining if someone has committed a crime. I'm confident it will be "for better" for us when he testifies.

Very good OP, and interesting discussion that follows.

...that Mueller will show the courage to tell all, and it doesn't matter, at this time, whether it is in public or private session. Will he be inclined to say more in a private setting?

If he testifies, I think it will be a good thing.

Unfortunately, Trump has just tweeted that he doesn't think Mueller should testify at all. After all the money spent and all the interviews, it is time to end it. That is the message that the airwaves are more likely to carry, in my opinion.
