Video of Kerry and GOP twit is perfect example of vast difference between parties.

This really is MUST SEE TV. Deluded GOPer thought his talk radio parrot act would best Kerry on the environment. Kerry, the statesman who marshaled together the entire world in Paris to
adopt a global plan to address climate change.

2. The biggest problem for stupid people is that they insist on demonstrating

their stupidity in public.

It would have been better if this GOP Congressmember had remained silent.

7. The really sad thing is this guy is an MIT educated engineer - certainly intelligent enough

to understand climate change. He clearly has problems acting human. It is completely idiotic that he even asked Secretary Kerry what his college degree was - as if he could not possibly have gained any expertise on a policy level in the 50 years since he graduated. Especially as he has worked on this issue since at least 1992 and worked (and is still working with) Ernie Moniz on getting the China deal and the Paris Accord.

Someone needs to demand this congressman not vote on any financial issue because he does not have an economic or accounting degree. That would be comparable.

On climate change, he pushed many RW themes that have been debunked years ago. Kerry was very polite dealing with this idiot. (I assume the idiot will use this on RW places claiming he called Kerry out.)

8. Yes, he may be intelligent enough...

in his field of expertise.

But, as you noted, he is pushing the GOP/fossil fuel companies line no matter the damage done to the environment that we all must live in.

And that suicidal short-sightedness, that ability to value the next quarter's profit over the long term survival of the human race, is the real problem with the GOP.

9. Exactly - and to make it clearer - I hold him MORE guilty because he clearly knows the convoluted

claims - like looking at the prehuman period on earth to argue that the levels are not as troubling as Kerry and the scientists who actually spend their careers studying this say -- are far fetched.

10. I have always been impressed with Kerry's ability to both not respond in anger, leaving himself the

time to make the points he came to make. He knows that he does not have to defend his own expertise and education.

and not the GOP goober.

14. Here's a link to a video of the entire hearing

Summary - Kerry and Hagel gave solid, competent answers to many dumb Republican Congressmen. The Democrats asked many helpful questions.

It seems so long ago that these two decent, brilliant men represented us in the world trying to make a better world.
