Trump's contract gave him the right to audit the Mammadovs finances. He was uniquely positioned to break up a likely multi-billion dollar money laundering scheme. He did not report anything to authorities. He continued the business relationship for the entire campaign. 2/
The Mammadovs worked with the Iranian Darvishi family, whose company, Azarpasillo, is a barely disguised front for the IRGC. The Darvishis were part of the IRGC air force WMD acquisitions team, working, specifically, on missile guidance systems.
It is highly likely that the Trump Tower Baku was a tool used by the Darvishis to acquire WMD and that Trump received millions from this scheme. Ivanka oversaw the project. Nobody at Trump Org denies any of this. They acknowledge its true. 4/end

The Trump administration is preparing to designate Irans Revolutionary Guard a foreign terrorist organization, an unprecedented move against a national armed force that could have widespread implications for U.S. personnel and policy in the Middle East and elsewhere.
Officials informed of the step said an announcement could come as early as Monday, after a monthslong escalation in the administrations rhetoric against Iran, its support for militia groups in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen, as well as anti-Israel groups in the region and beyond.
It would be the first such designation by any American administration of an entire foreign government entity, although portions of the Guard, notably its elite Quds Force, have been targeted previously by the United States.

(9,971 posts)Trump keeps doing thing to provoke Iran into an action that he will use to justify all-out war. Aside from his rhetoric, he has already done three major things to provoke them:
withdrew from the nuclear deal signed by Obama and reimposed economic sanctions
agreed to transfer nuclear technology to their enemy Saudi Arabia , illegally because Congress has not authorized such a transfer
labeled part of the Iranian government, the Revolutionary, a terrorist organization, which has economic and trade consequences for Iran
I may be missing some things, but those come to mind quickly. He will keep on provoking them to get his war in time for the 2020 election.

Then again, it's not exactly news you'd hear on Faux, so how would his voters know?

Not exactly news to anybody who was paying attention.
Now, Trump "turns" on the Iranians? Who'd a thunk?

(2,770 posts)Clearly, Trump is the real Teflon Don. Im through asking why the Republicans dont take action. Its gotta be something that theyre involved with thats equally damning and likely to leak if Trump falls. (Owning a Russian bank while serving in Congress, anyone?)
