One thing to be prepared for...

Last edited Sat Aug 25, 2012, 04:30 AM - Edit history (1)

the polls after the RNC will, unless total insanity not only breaks out in Tampa but actually gets properly reported in the MSM, have Romney and his party's candidates at the strongest level of support they'll have demonstrated all year.

Do NOT freak out over this.

We have OUR convention after that...we'll have attack ads ready...we'll have volunteers ready...if we can keep it together, we can still do very, very VERY well this fall.

Just don't lose your shit if you see polls after Tampa showing, say Romney with a five- or seven-point lead. That will be the high-point for them. They will WANT us to panic and throw in the towel...but there will be no reason to do so.

It's still a LONG time 'til November, folks.

1. Actually I am not so sure if there will be that much of a bounce. I don't think that many

Keep the blow torch away from your head.

Remember, only the USA has something remotely inane as a two year presidential campaign. Nobody in the world has anything as stupid as that. Alas, this is our cross to bear -- so to speak.

Remember, these interminably long campaigns sell more beer, lawyer services, AARP insurance, cosmetics for the lovely women (to say nothing of shampoo -- remember, lather, rinse, repeat), plus quackery for weight loss, toxin elimination and penis enhancement, among other necessities. And don't forget the ads on how to get even more TV do that so that even more of the above mentioned promotions are brought into your home.

I hate US politics. When the government falls in the UK they have precious few days to settle affairs with a national election. Some how they get 'er done. The idiotic USA takes two fucking years.

We desperately need campaign and election reform. I have been politically active since I was a teen in 1964. I am shocked by how our politics have turned into a fucking never ending circus.

It's no wonder the populous hates it all. I don't blame them. I hate the whole stinking pile of shit. But, I will do my best to help Obama get reelected.

But damnit! We have some work to do. And it's gonna be heavy lifting. The way we're doing things is coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs.

4. That is historically true, but this is Romney. He'll say something stupid.

He can't help himself. He may get a small bounce, but then the head-scratching will begin. We may even get a smallish scandal. The bounce lasts maybe 2 weeks? Then the revulsion will come back.
