BREAKING: Manhattan DA Vance unseals 15 fraud & conspiracy charges against Manafort (No Pardon!)

No pardon for you, Manafort!

BREAKING: Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance unseals 15 fraud and conspiracy charges against Paul Manafort.

Correction: It's actually 16!

New York Charges Paul Manafort With 16 Crimes. If Heís Convicted, Trump Canít Pardon Him.

Paul J. Manafort, President Trumpís former campaign chairman, has been charged in New York with mortgage fraud and more than a dozen other state felonies, the Manhattan district attorney, Cyrus R. Vance, Jr., said Wednesday, an effort to ensure he will still face prison time if Mr. Trump pardons him for his federal crimes.

News of the indictment came shortly after Mr. Manafort was sentenced to his second federal prison term in two weeks; he now faces a combined sentence of more than seven years for tax and bank fraud and conspiracy in two related cases brought by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III.

The president has broad power to issue pardons for federal crimes, but has no such authority in state cases.

While Mr. Trump has not said he intends to pardon his former campaign chairman, he has often spoken of his power to pardon and has defended Mr. Manafort on a number of occasions, calling him a ďbrave man.Ē

26. These NYS charges are for residential mortgage fraud

... so nothing to do with Chump on these new cases, it looks like. Chump doesn't need to waste his precious pardon on Manafort. He can save those presidential pardons for his own kids.

35. But wasn't this the same guy trump said he barely knew

and who just worked for him for a few weeks or so?

So now trump is vouching for what a wonderful guy Manafort is and how unfairly heís been treated? How would trump know what a pure and blameless individual he is, in so short a time?

4. LOL. Sucks to be Paulie now...

Assuming this prosecution succeeds, now there's no point in Trump taking the political risk of trying to bribe Manafort with a pardon. All that effort to appear loyal to Trump down the drain.

Might give them a little something to think about and keep them on edge.

14. Yes. They were waiting for the federal cases to be completed.

Very polite of them, I think. That shows proper deference, I believe.

Now, the State's case can proceed. Poor Manafort will have to be wheeled into court again, so he'll probably stay right where he is for now, instead of being transferred to a more pleasant Federal Prison.

Tough times ahead for Paul. No relief.

He has a lot of making up to do when he had an open and shut case against Jr. and Ivanka and failed to bring charges.

The CPA he had on shows why NYAG undoubtedly has similar sealed indictments with Donald J. Trumps name on them. "It would take 15 minutes and you would know if they committed tax fraud".

36. Wonder how many more indictments

Mueller has for him soon? Great to hear state charges will put him away for life, and I would expect they have more waiting for him. If trump tries to pardon him he'll get connected and charged with obstruction and conspiracy also with him. It'll be the same if he tries to pardon everyone, including himself, they'll just make it worse for them all, and have state charges for some in large numbers I suspect as corrupt as trump and his family are. Its only a matter of time before Mueller shows they all conspired together, and were neck deep in criminal activities.
