EXCLUSIVE: Trump-linked massage parlor baron hawked visas too!

The founder of a chain of massage and spa parlors that snagged Patriots owner Robert Kraft was apparently also hawking a different line of business: investment immigration.

Li “Cindy” Yang, a 45-year old Florida woman, has found herself in the headlines this past week for hobnobbing with some of the country’s most powerful politicians (including Trump) at Mar-a-Lago, and reportedly charging top Chinese execs for access to elected officials at the Palm Beach club.

TPM found that Yang, through a Florida-based company called GY US Investments LLC, was also using proximity to Trump and his properties to peddle so-called investor visas. Under the EB-5 visa program, foreign citizens can get a conditional two-year U.S. green card in exchange for making certain investments. Mother Jones first reported the existence of GY US Investments.

Along with extensive offers of access to Trump and American politicians including Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, Yang’s company also claimed to provide “immigration investment projects,” according to a translation of cached versions of the company’s website. Those services included independent investments and those done via “immigration investment project centers,” according to the now shuttered website.

2. EB-5 visas are big business

There are thousands of companies and websites that offer this service, but most don't have access to top level government persons.
When you think of the 75% of the people in this country illegally because of over stays on their visa, a large portion of them are here on HB-5 chain migration status.

4. EB-5 investor visas require $500,000 minimum investment

and they're capped at 10,000 per year. After a few years they get a permanent green card and then citizenship so I doubt a lot (any) of them are overstaying them.

And let's not use the term "chain migration" that was started and made popular by hate groups like FAIR, CIS, and NumbersUSA and republicans.

The correct term is family reunification.

8. Well, if you know the cost$ you obviously know a "large portion" of "illegals" are not here

because they "overstayed" their extremely expensive miniscule number EB5 visas like you said earlier.

12. Thanks! was just applying a little logic where there was none.

10k EB-5s per year with conditional green cards (can't "overstay" a green card).

Even if you could "overstay" a green card, how could 10k out of millions of temporary visas out there constitute a "large portion" of the millions of "illegals" who overstayed their visas?

Too funny. Have a nice day.

9. Yes, indeedy. Just coming to post that.

Nicole Kushner Meyer took the stage at a Ritz-Carlton hotel in Beijing on Saturday with a pitch to a room with about 100 investors: They could get green cards if they poured money into One Journal Square, a $150 million luxury Jersey City development from her family.

The quid-pro-quo would come through the EB-5 program, which grants visas to foreigners who invest at least $500,000 in American development projects. Politicians on both sides of the aisle have often criticized the program as a golden road to citizenship for the wealthy.

According to multiple media reports from the event, parts of Meyer's talk touted her ties to President Trump through her brother, who is married to Trump's daughter Ivanka.

One slide in her sales pitch pictured Trump and identified him as a "key decision maker" for the EB-5 program. She also made sure to mention her brother's role as a senior advisor to Trump.

10. Rest in Peace, Mr. Beranton J. Whisenant Jr.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/beranton-whisenant-jr-federal-prosecutor-suicide-florida/

He was investigating visa and passport fraud cases. In south Florida. Had only been there for about five months.

Seemed like he had a lot to live for. Little kids, new job, wanted to be a judge some day.

My apologies to anyone upset about a suggestion of unproven conspiracy theories, but this man sounded special.

Guess the final report from the Hollywood Police ruled it a suicide supported by some reported marital issues. How do you leave three little kids behind? No press reports talking to the family, just reliant on the Hollywood police department.

14. Earlier article - cases of foreigners illegally entering the country, passport fraud, visas

https://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/crime/article158305419.html

He handled cases on foreigners illegally entering the country, passport fraud and visa violations, along with a few drug distribution prosecutions.

...The wait for an explanation about what might have happened to the Miramar father of three has left friends and former colleagues searching for clues themselves and has frustrated some family members. One relative, Angela Padgett, the aunt of Beranton’s wife, contacted The Miami Herald to ask about progress in resolving what she said the family believes was a murder — by a gunshot to the head.

“The coroner told Beranton’s wife that he had a gunshot wound in his head when they turned over his body to the family” in late May for funeral services, said Padgett, who lives in Georgia. She said she was a “concerned family member who has not gotten a good night’s rest since Beranton was killed.”

Then, a bunch of right wingers (or troll farms?) start making up conspiracy theories connecting it to a lawsuit by Bernie supporters or Debbie WS — to which he had no connection — making everybody is sick of conspiracy theories. What a convenient way to shut down future speculation.

The lack of information from authorities has opened the door for internet fringe sites that traffic in unfounded political conspiracies. But there is little evidence in the real world or in Whisenant’s personal and professional background to suggest someone would target him.
