another IS CHRIS MATTHEWS ILL ..... leaving msnbc ?? WHAT IS GOING ON
Brian Williams Could Replace Chris Matthews on MSNBC: Report
According to a new report from Page Six, Brian Williams could be up for a big promotion at MSNBC in the near future. The former NBC Nightly News anchor, who was removed from that position following a scandal surrounding his exaggerated memories of experiencing combat in Iraq, has spent the past few years hosting 11th Hour with Brian Williams. In that late-night time slot, he consistently gets more viewers than both Fox News and CNN. That ratings success has led to new talk that Williams could end up replacing veteran host Chris Matthews in the 7 p.m. hour on MSNBC. This February, Matthews’ Hardball rated last in the coveted 25-54 news demo behind Fox and CNN. Along with Rachel Maddow, Williams is expected to lead the network’s 2020 coverage, as he did on Election Night in 2016 and 2018. https://www.thedailybeast.com/brian-williams-could-replace-chris-matthews-on-msnbc-report

As much as he was a middle-left pundit, both he and his wife left a dirty trail of lies and deceit towards Hillary Clinton at their every remark. I forever hold it against them.

106. Ay! Does he interrupt!
I sometimes empathize with his guests. He doesn't give them a chance to fully form and express an idea. He's got to bust in there with that raspy trumpet of a voice and not allow guests to tell him something he doesn't know. What is that, anyway? He drifts into old memories like a demented uncle. He treats his show as if the guests are just fill-ins between his storytelling ventures. Come on. The network pays tweetie's guests to be interrupted by the host. No one in the line-up of anchors is worse.

91. Depends on the topic
Ari’s shows on the Trump case, which is all everyone has been doing for the past 18 months, are more thorough, more insightful, feature better guests and are led by a guy who understands the law. Matthews understands politics and will measure up much better once the primary horserace starts, but that’s not going to be interesting until the fall.
That said, if the choice is Tweety and Brian Williams, leave it be. Matthews is a much better option than Williams, who is a bore. |

49. Living forever is not part of the package for humans.
But really, does anything live forever. Our Sun and Galaxy will both stop functioning at some point. Yes, we are talking billions of years for the Sin and Galaxy, but both will perish.
I actually feel fortunate that we have relatively short lives in Universe dinensions, if we are wise, we would seek to make every second of our lives meaningful. Sorry about wigging out on you, but dying isn't something that I chose to dwell on, there is just too much living to do. |

55. You made me flash back to my professor in college
who asked us what are the truths in life? Of course, all of us lower-thinkers said death. Wrong! He said, you never know, you could be the first person who lives forever. The only truth in life is change.
I have never had anyone I love die until my dog did 93 days ago. I keep thinking he will appear or someday I will see him again. I know it's intellectually absurd - but I am kind of in that place now - yearning to believe in the intellectually absurd. I am not into the "making every second of our lives meaningful" - more into " I am going to do exactly what I want to do at any given moment" mode. |

You are in a mourning period over your pet's death. Given that is a first for you, that makes it tougher. What you are experiencing is a normal human reaction. Sorry, I did not know about what you are going through.

It is a calm, intelligent, witty and sometimes touching wrap-up of the day's WH news.
He has the best print journos from the top stories of the day, and smart, informed guests. NO ringers. (Ari had Rep. Gaetz on recently and told us to listen to both sides!!!) He is very skilled at his task. Focused and congenial. I think putting him at 7 would be a mistake unless he also had 11th hour. So what if he exaggerated an experience in the past. He has redeemed himself a thousand times over. He's a good guy. |

I have been thinking that he is sick, for months. The old malaria keeps recurring, and his type 1 diabetes is bound to take a toll at times. And he's been coughing for months and can't hide it.
Tom Brokaw took on a consulting role, eventually. Tweety could do the same, although giving up the host spot would be very, very difficult. I sense that he likely wants to hang tough until Trump is adjudicated at least. You are right that his body of knowledge is invaluable as a resource. |

Matthews, love him or hate him, is one of a kind and authentic. He's intellectually curious and is constantly trying to see new angles and how it all fits together. He's a political junkie like the rest of us and that really comes across on his show.
I strongly disagreed with his moralizing against the Clintons over the years. But that was his view at the time which he has come to regret, seeing how badly the country went down the tubes during the Bush era. Williams is a good news man who imo was unfairly treated over his mistake, which is minor in contrast to the world of lies we live in the Trump era. I don't think Williams can do "Hardball" though. He's much more of a laid-back personality which works well for his 11th Hour show. |
