Thoughts on impeachment here.

Last edited Thu Feb 28, 2019, 12:22 PM - Edit history (1)

First of all i WANT RUMP impeached! I've said that before here. Also i've said that timing is VERY important because the SENATE will NOT convict this asshole. NOW i have a question. If the House DOES NOT impeach, will the RETHUGS in the senate, in the future say they were waiting on the house to do there job? Essentially blaming the DEMS? Any thoughts on this? I'm leaning more on The HOUSE needs to investigate some more here, then IMPEACH!! (i'm talking when the Nancy feels it's the right time) Whether or not the senate convicts , we have to impeach at some point!

2. I think with the house in our control

We need to investigate more and more and keep this all in the public eye in the runyp to 2020 and we need to keep going. Every time something leads to more republicans having dirt (or maybe even blood) on their hands it needs to be made public. As much as I dislike Donald Trump this is much bigger than just him. The republican party as it exists today is a threat to our democracy and we need to deal with that. cutting out only part of the tumor does no good.

3. more likely now than before...

"Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI), a member the House Judiciary Committee, said that everyone was being “careful” since you only get one shot at impeachment, but that all things considered, President Donald Trump was “more likely” to be removed from office in light of Michael Cohen’s testimony than he was before."

4. This is good!

I just feel before 2020 the House needs to make their move and impeach! I really see the (Senate) RETHUGS coming back and blaming the House if they get the opportunity.

6. Why do you only get one shot at impeachment?

The constitution doesn't say that. If the president is impeached and the senate doesn't convict then the president does something else illegal. Why couldn't there be another impeachment? No where does it say how often impeachments can occur in the Constitution.

9. Only one shot for political reasons. It is a political process after all.

5. several impeachment paths and all can be taken as constitution DOES NOT limit the

number of times articles of Impeachment can be passed.

1. impeach trump on abuse of power for declaring a national emergency to bypass congress. This can happen as soon as he vetos the resolution and is a very clear abuse of power

2. any number of house investigations revealing trump corruption

3. Muellers report

we can GOP and mitch Mcconnel spend senate time in defending trump and corruption right up to 2020 election....while this can motivate THEIR BASE, their base is a minority if the rest of america wants to see trump go

7. TY. And to my thoughts of the RETHUGS blaming the House if they do nothing?

You have any thoughts on this? Do you believe they will blame the House? (if they do nothing)

8. republicans have no intention of blaming democrats if they do nothing, its entirely opposite...the

complaints are now flying from simply holding hearings as it will be so for next 18 months

10. Once again, the Senate does not indict. That is the province of the Justice Department.

If the House votes to impeach Trump, the Senate on a two thirds vote, could CONVICT him, thereby removing him from office. If that happens, under the current DOJ guide lines, Trump could then be indicted for crimes.
