Don Jr. On Russia Probe: 'No Actual Crimes' Just 'Things People Did In Past Lives'
By Kate Riga
February 25, 2019 9:08 am Donald Trump Jr. thought up a creative way to discredit the indictments special counsel Robert Mueller has already secured, telling the “Fox and Friends” hosts Monday morning that there were “no actual crimes,” just “things people did in past lives.” “They’re not investigating actual crimes anymore,” Trump Jr. said. “They’re literally trying to find something they can make a big deal of.” “What they did is they put incredible pressure on regular guys that couldn’t afford million dollars in legal fees, got them to slip up, say something incorrectly,” he continued. “They pretended they’re their friends.” “There are no actual crimes,” he concluded. “There is only things that people did in past lives, in 2006 before we even thought we’d ever get into this crazy world.” Link to tweet So far, eight people have pleaded guilty to charges brought due to Mueller’s investigation. ### https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/no-actual-crimes-things-people-did-past-lives

6. All crimes @ some point will have taken place in the past.
Last edited Mon Feb 25, 2019, 12:29 PM - Edit history (1) When you are on trial in court the crimes with which you are charged with are always in the past
but to Fox News viewers they somehow think that Jr's gibberish is knowledge. So the June 2016 meeting of Trump Jr, Kushner, Manafort, and the Russians in Trump Tower really took place in 2006. ![]() |

14. What I want to know is what did Don Jr do in 2006 ...
why reference a specific year unless it is in his mind.

8. Desperately attempting to run out the clock.
Some of the cases the SDNY are looking at are running up against statute of limitations.
As to the "past lives" bullshit... is he saying he is a re-born criminal? It's not like declaring for Jesus. ya know... your past criminal sins are NOT washed away. |

13. these guys couldn't sound more like criminals if they tried.
they sound 100% like a bunch of criminals who have zero respect for the law and resent every aspect of law enforcement.
well, except when it's used against women or people of color.... |

Or is bringing up someone's affair considered too gauche for the curvy couch?

19. If You Are Telling the Truth
If you are telling the truth, how can someone trick you into saying something incorrectly. Also, it is likely that most people consider "say something incorrectly" to mean lie. I can understand the idea of people being forced into a confession. However, the people Donald Trump Jr. is talking about are not broke, uneducated individuals. These people are educated professional who had careers and were knowledgeable of the legal system.
Also, Trump Jr. claims his family never thought they would be in the political world. That does not ring true. Donald Trump Sr. has been talking about running for President since the 90s. |
