Why Isn't Mark Harris Behind Bars for His NC Election Fraud Scheme?
Neither Harris nor the GOP should get a pass for their blatant election fraud scheme, and they certainly shouldn’t get a second chance and a do-over election. Instead, they should be made to forfeit the election and the congressional seat for their cheating scheme and Dan Mc Cready should immediately be declared the winner. It’s stunning to see the GOP get away with this, especially since they’re always outraged and campaigning against election fraud.

Fraud committed by the candidate has to garner more than 5 years then!

more than the 5 years that the Texas woman got, seeing as this is election fraud?

At the very least he should be disqualified from ever running in that district.

40. The election commission isn't considered a court of law per se, and doesn't have the right to
punish or convict anyone. All they can do is certify or not certify the election. They did not certify it, therefore the election happens again with the same candidates. That is actually good for us. The republicans want the primaries to be repeated so they can get another candidate, but hopefully that won't happen.
BTW, the election commission forwarded McCrae Dowless' name to the DOJ for prosecution for the 2016 election, but Trump's DOJ did absolutely nothing. |

47. If I recall - he used the same ballot fraud scheme perp as a consultant - in the primary in 2016
which is why the son - by reviewing election results (? presumably) came to the conclusion that in 2016 there was some fraud going on in the primary elections.
He is also slimed by the use of absentee voter fraud to win the seat in 2016. Both "candidates" are tainted. But perhaps he was unaware of the scheme - as he didn't hire the guy (or perhaps was turned down because he was already hired by Harris?) in the reelection campaign. |

4. I have heard that an investigation has been opened.
These things take time; they don't happen instantly. He's entitled to due process, a trial if necessary, just like everyone else. And obviously the GOP didn't get away with it because a new election has been ordered. The way their election laws work doesn't allow for McCready being declared the winner. There has to be a new election.

He certainly looks to have known exactly who and what he was hiring.
Yes, he also scammed Pittenger (no gem but less vile than Harris) out of a primary. I don't see how he will able to remain a candidate after saying he had sepsis and 2 strokes and it made him lie. |

Shoplifters get arrested on less evidence. Why hasn't this guy at least been booked? It sounds like his whole family was in on it. They already flipped on him.
Jeebus. How much more does a prosecutor need? The guy is even a convicted felon. It's not like they need a lot of legal cover here. |

13. Harris Should Forfeit Because of His Felonious Cheating
The GOP doesn’t deserve a second bite of the apple. And if, unfortunately, there is a do-over, McCready shouldn’t have to spend one more dollar for the campaign. Democrats didn’t violate election law. The GOP should have underwrite the costs for both sides.

33. Elaine Marshall is the SOS, and a Democrat as is the Josh Stain the Attorney General and
the Wake County DA who I believe is tasked with investigating this. Part of the delays were due to some funky stuff the Repug GA did to try to weaken our Democratic Governor, that was overturned by the court.

The local elections board must swear a complaint and send it to the AG. Since the previous board was dissolved before they could do so none has gone forward until now.
Your anti-southern bias is sadly misplaced and dishonors NC Democrats, Elaine Among them. Shame on you for such lazy thinking. |

Very few cases of actual voter fraud occur and where it has been discovered, it's usually an "R" who committed it. Lie, cheat, and steal is their MO. This abomination must go the way of the Whigs.

19. EXACTLY!!! So far the only recourse in these matters has been for citizens to come up with the
funding themselves, and nonprofits, and sue the violators, such as elections officials, in court. We have a SERIOUS weakness in our elections infrastructure that protects corrupt politicians and elections officials and does nothing to protect citizens and even allows officials to intimidate citizens who speak out.

That appears to be a cleansing ritual for evangelicals--they cry when caught up in anything unseemly. Hard not to recall Jimmy Swaggart and his famous display of contrition.
As for the GOP? They're as hypocritical as these evangelical ministers. It's all about winning 24/7. I agree. There should be no second chances on this one--a clear case of election fraud by a group that makes the ominous 'voter fraud' an endless battle cry. |
