Well, they better get a fucking move-on then

I remember the despair and actual terror I felt the day after election day 2016.

I remember then hearing about how the Russians "meddled" (like it was just a little oopsie daisy) in that election.

Then I remember thinking that "it's ok, they have a long time to identify it and fix it before 2020". That was back in the days when I actually had hope. The good old days when I actually thought that Republicans might put country over party.

Then I remember thinking that if the Russian oopsie daisy was to be fixed, that they better get a fucking move-on, because 2020 will be here in a flash. Time's a wastin'.

Then I saw exactly how shitty Trump and the Republicans could really be. Then I saw that there really is no bottom. Because of this, rectifying that Russian oopsie thing got hamstrung, so the House Dems now have to fight like hell to rectify the issue in time for the 2020 elections.

Then we have the social media issue. I somehow thought that social media CEO's would see the magnitude of the problem, and that they would fix it. Well, they didn't fix it. They offer lip service as to the steps that have been taken to rectify the propaganda on social media, but it is my opinion that things are the same as they ever were.

Now we are witnessing the absolute fucking impotence that highly intelligent and moral leaders and highly intelligent and moral regular citizens have when a madman decides that there are no rules. Us Dems rightfully rejoice in our recent victories, because they are meaningful. But unless everything goes quickly and exactly right with the Mueller investigation, nothing can be done soon to oust Trump et al, (because of the Republican controlled Senate) until we the people get a chance to change things at the ballot box in 2020. I have zero faith in the Republican Senate doing the right thing for the country, no matter what the result of Mueller's investigation or House investigations. Winning the House was a blessing and certainly a step in the right direction, but Trump is still there. And Pence will still be there unless Mueller can finger him. And McConnell will still be there until he is voted out, or he gets indicted by Mueller. This is a dire problem because of the exponential rate that Trump and/or the Republicans are able to fuck things up through sheer determination. It is hard to think that he/they are not intentionally trying to destroy the US, and Trump is doing it as quickly as he can because he percieves that there is a chance his days in office are numbered, or at least there is a good chance that he will be a one termer. The Democratic House can mitigate the future damage, but he'll continue to fuck things up as much as he can through executive orders and just plain old political gaslighting. Every day going forward under Trump is a risk. Every day, every hour.

So we sit here with bated breath waiting for Mueller's report, but I think we need to face that a lot of things have to go right to fix the overall problem.

Trump/Pence/McConnell/almost all republicans/propagandized social media/knuckle dragging Trump voters/an illegitimate Supreme Court/disbelief by Trump voters and potential violence perpetuated by them if Trump is indeed somehow indicted/our decimated standing as a world leader. All of these issues cannot be fixed overnight. Some of them will take generations to fix.

Elections do indeed have consequences. Especially illegitimate ones.

going on behind the scenes that we do not know which is dangerous for us. We are being lead by a mafia ring who thinks about themselves has neutered our Congress which is willing to cover their own asses instead of obeying the Constitution.

We must rise up and not let them think they have castrated us.
